OK, let's lower the speed limit to 25 so we're all doing a similar speed. You can't change everybody's behavior by posting on here.

Exactly!! I agree that changing the speed limit is not going to happen, but posting on here that this is a golf cart community obviously is not going to make a difference. I think all but the morons realize this is a golf cart community as it has been one for 40+ years. Posting "what's the hurry, this is a retirement community" doesn't seem to make much of an impact either. I've been here two years and have seen one of these two statements or a variant of the two at least a couple of thousand times. I'm starting to come to the conclusion that maybe they aren't having much of an impact.

Well i know for a fact that when i spent 3 years commuting 2 hours a day on interstate-75, I was powerless about how other people drove. I learned a lot about traffic flow, and am grateful to know there is a 2013 law for ticketing slowbies in the fast lane.

Some legislators must have read the stats on what causes accidents?

We come from ny where it is common courtesy for slower drivers to be in the right lane, and faster drivers use the left lane. I don't know how many times on rt. 466 for example that I got behind some vehicle doing about 35 in the left lane. This is inexcusable! People thnk that because they have to make a left turn a mile or two down the road they can drive below the speed of traffic flow in that left lane. If you're driving slower than everyone else, stay to the right.

The Golf Car driver waited for the light to cross cr466 and then continued on his merry way
North bound on Morse. He had no idea he had nearly met his maker.

Legally , the Golf Cart driver had every RIGHT to be there.
However, he was almost DEAD RIGHT.

How the other Auto missed the Golf Cart is a mystery.

From this story, some will take it that the, presumably, LSV should not be on the road. Others will believe that the bird flipping vehicular psychotic should not be out in civilization, yet alone behind the wheel of a car. I lean toward the latter.

Well said, Mike! I'll bet some on this forum believe that motorcycles are a hazzard on the road. So are trucks and scooters and the dreaded bicycle. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be surprised if some think they are the only ones who are not a road hazzard. So much for "sharing the road."

The reference you posted shows that the Gem car is not as safe as a Smart Car, in crash tests. It is not designed to be as crash-worthy as a car. However, it is more crash-worthy than a motorcycle, motor scooter or a bicycle. If your point is that only the most crash-worthy vehicle should be driven on the road, should we all be allowed to only drive the highest crash tested vehicles? The safest part of any vehicle is the driver behind the wheel.

Why was a street legal cart going 25 in a 35? Aren't they allowed to go 35?
