Or maybe they are not bothered sitting next to a person with a sleeveless shirt who hasn't showered in a week. Shaved and has three teeth in their mouth.

Artistic taste is not granted to us all, nor is music ability or good looks. I am a huge fan of deed restrictions. It keeps me from being too creative and artistic and thus annoying my neighbors.

This past weekend I installed 80' of stockade fencing along a partial piece of my backyard. This neighbor is an absolute messy person who's backyard resembles Fred Sanfords. I screwed the stockade to my existing post and rail. It looks like real crap on his side but nice on mine, plumb as plumb could possibly be. He can't do a thing about it cause there ain't no town statute against it, Including his junk piles.
Deed restrictions are good. Payback is even better. |

A neighbor cut a large limb off of our tree in Cincinnati when we were here in The Villages during our snowbird time in the past. The neighbor felt our limb was interfering with his dish reception. Were we annoyed? You betcha. Did we say or do anything? No. We were gone half of the year. But we KNEW that wasn't nice. We would never have done that to anyone. I hated owning two homes, but we never had any trouble with our neighbors. It takes two to make a fight. There are those who are raised to confront someone when they think they are out of line and those who are raised to NOT confront someone when they think they are out of line. One will never understand the other. One thinks the other is a big mouth and the one thinks the other is a wuss. Deed restrictions help everyone, in my opinion.

You didn't say, was the limb across his property line ? Please don't tell me it wasn't. |

He said to us that there was a storm and the limb fell off and it had jagged edges and he cut it straight for us. Neighbors saw the dish go up and the limb being cut down and heard him complaining about our tree. Our tree didn't hang or stick out on his property. It may have blocked his dish by being tall. We are still alive and well and enjoying life and so is he. Glad to be here. He probably is too. Glad we are here.
