It wasn't just the FDA antibody test that confirmed my diagnosis. But thanks for your input!

Default Take chains off

Your right in saying your selfish. Putting your sports needs before safety of yourself and others is like a kid stamping his feet when he's told he can't go out to play. This virus is transmitted from one person to another. Facts. It's a shame it has to come into your home with one of your love ones and then have you say I should of listened. The actions with some here in the Villages is more like kids who don't want to listen. You telling me as a parent you would tell your kids to go out and play and the heck with the virus.

You're the one who wrote that it was an FDA approved test.

The Swedes have it right.
Yup, the Swedes have it right.....if the plan is to thin the herd.

Sweden is surrounded by Finland, Norway, and Denmark to the south. Those 3 countries followed the shutdown, and now we have this;

Finland - 5,051 cases - 218 deaths
Norway - 7,759 cases - 210 deaths
Denmark - 9,509 cases - 460 deaths

Sweden - 21,520 cases - 2,653 deaths

Great plan

So glad to hear that you are a risk taker. Just don't appreciate you putting me at risk while you play the odds. Just take a deep breath. hold your water and your incredibly important softball game will be there for you when the danger passes. Work on not being so selfish in the meantime.

I had not read the quote. It is spot on and describes way too many in The Villages.

I have been very disappointed to see that some in a demographic that has seen so much of life have just rolled over and said "well they know what's good for us".

I’m not sure from your question which figure you’re questioning.
The first set was the entire death count for the state during the first 4 mos. of 2019 (I couldn’t get 2020). All deaths of all residents.

Second figure, for comparison, was just COVID19 deaths so far.

It's your decision not to participate for any reason. Some of us want to participate in activities with whatever precautions WE choose. Stay at home until you choose and wear your masks out in public!

As many of us are disappointed that some in a demographic that has seen so much of life are willing to dismiss those that have more data and knowledge as not worthy of their respect and attention. Risking putting your kids and grandkids through fear, even if you catch it and recover, not only shows disrespect for those that believe otherwise, but also shows uncaring for your family. I can't imagine any child or grandkid that loves you saying "what the hell, get out there and enjoy life, it doesn't matter if you get sick, we don't care". Now diesing of course is different, depending on your estate they might think otherwise

Because it is. The FDA had approved only 4 antibody tests a couple of weeks ago, not sure how many since. This is one of the latest to gain FDA approval. There were many non-approved tests floating around for the last month. I followed my doctor's advice and waited for one that was FDA approved.

Yes, your actions are reckless. We are all getting tired of being quarantined and would love to go back to the life we had before the virus. But the alternative is possible sickness and death. That may be ok for you, but I don’t think the vast majority of Villagers would agree with you. We’re not ready to “take our chances” like you are. We would rather be able to enjoy the rest of our lives healthy and happy. People like you are so self-centered that they don’t even think about the danger you are costing others. Shame on you.
