Welp, I love where I live south of 44... turnpike noise and all. I love going out on my lanai and waving at the truckers to blow their horns. Music to my ears.

But, as was said before, look at Brownwood - there are houses on 2 sides of it, not 4. Anyone could have assumed building was going to continue south.

I also think the Developer has a long term strategy (i.e. to expand south); but not the exact execution plan - (i.e. buy this plot of land, that plot of land, build here now, build here in 2033). Too many ‘what ifs’ over the next 10p 15 years.
Building speed will change dramatically if interest rates are 2.5% vs 7.5%.
Bet most buyers in TV use cash, after they sell their northern home.

Non-playing walkers are allowed on golf courses?

Where would you be able to do that at?

Supply and demand, those who wanted to live in the new LSL area, because that could be the last square. Brownwood property was already in family, but public did know that.
When we came in 07 SS retail space, was full, KBs was packed with people who spent money on good food, and a great bar, with entertainment.

LSL had was empty, developer owned retail and restaurant, movie theater, although you had to go to SS for any new movies. You didn’t have people (Goldwing nut) flying drones over land that was starting to be developed, to know building wouldn’t stop. Houses took longer in those days, it’s wasn’t the science as todays build. Home were no built in 30 days as they are now. Our first home we bought in May, July first the homes across the street were just being completed. So again less homes on the market, more people looking than available

The developer was advertising heavily on golf tournaments, and golf magazines. A lifestyle package included breakfast at what is now Panera. Dinner at KBs, Palmer, Lopez, 4 rounds of golf at champ of your choosing, tennis, 4 movie tickets, and 2 classes of your choice. All for $285 4 days 3 nights at LSL.

Once people came here, they fell in love with the “lifestyle”. Many wanted to buy while there were houses.

Not at anytime did our rep, who is now over most of all sales reps, pressure us. In fact he called us once gave us his contact number if we wanted to see homes. We choose not to look, with him, stopped at couple open houses. 2 more visits before we finally called him to look at houses. Again no scare tactics, from our rep, just people who didn’t want to miss getting a home here.
So, using your theory, there would be no reason to "scare" people by telling them that they would stop building when they reached (insert highway here)...

Or am I wrong about that?

I personally could not care what they think of me as a “renter”, but their rudeness and self-entitled attitude may offend others.

After reading your post you seem to possess the same rudeness and “self-entitled attitude” as the people I met last year with your comments about living south of 44, did you really have to post “as far as I’m concerned, south of 44 doesn’t exist.” ?

Since you’re a part timer also I am beginning to wonder if some of the comments I heard from the people I met last year about part timers may be justified?

Anyway I have only been here a week and so far its been good, nice people so far so I am GLAD south of 44 does exist!
Funny, many of the complaints about renters are coming from those who bought in the newer sections...

And why is it "rude" and a "self-entitled attitude" to comment that a place that you have no reason to visit "doesn't exist" in one's mind?

Could it be your own inferiority complex showing?

Frankly, I have no idea, since I don't know you. Just like you don't know the person you're attacking...

I have no reason to visit several places in TV, both north and south of me. To me, they don't exist, since I doubt I'll ever go there. Is that a bad thing? Why waste my time worrying about places I'll never go?

As I've said (no countless times), be happy where you chose to live and stop worrying about what others think about it...

Yes, but when a mortgage is @ 2.5%, it may be better to keep your cash working for you...

Everyone who lives in The Villages has golf courses. Travel times vary, that's all. No heart eating here.

We moved from the northernmost part of the Villages all the way down to Newell. And guess what? We love it here!

I am so glad you love where you live, but why do I care that you don't want to come down here? What is the reason for your post? Just to bash those of us who decide to purchase down here?
I still plan to come to Spanish Springs and even play golf up at Orange Blossom, from time to time. Those are all part of THE VILLAGES, right? My ID is good for any of the courses, rec centers, clubs, etc. Yet, I don't feel the need to say that it is better down south.
Last I heard, there was not a competition. Why can't you just enjoy where you are, and leave it at that?

Look, almost all of these posts, the TOTV hot topics are posted shortly after the middle of the month, it gives us 2 weeks to engage, and wahla, TOTV numbers increase for advertisers.
I tend to agree. TOTV is an excellent tool for the developer to test the pulse of the community. (survey)

Which are supposed to be for golfers. Also TV anounced building 3 more Champion Courses down here as well as 3 more executive and another pitch and put. Lots of golf and lots of dedicated peaceful hike and bike trails.
