I got on a chat session with a Spectrum agent and asked about the $29.99 price, whether it would suddenly jump up to a higher "normal" price. But they said, "No, the $29.99 price was standard, and not a temporary discounted price."

I switched from Verizon about 2 years ago. No perceptible difference in service, and the most I’ve paid is $28 monthly. Sometimes as little as $14/month, depending upon data usage. It works very well for me.

How difficult is it to keep your phone #? Does that just simply go with the phone? Or do you have to do something special?

You can keep your old phone number. I have not switched over to Spectrum Mobile yet, but their website has guidance on what you need to do. You can find the info on spectrum.com/mobile, there is a link on the toolbar = "Bring Your Device". Please note that not ALL phones can be transferred over to Spectrum Mobile. You can check your phone's compatibility at the link I gave above.

Now how would you know that has any impact on service here? I have had Spectrum Mobile for 4 years and have never had a problem with making or receiving calls, texts or access to the internet. I have had their cable service and internet service for over 8 years and see no reason to change. I question those that make negative statements, how long have they had the service? I had Verizon forever before we moved here (wife and I both worked for them) and we switched....have had no problem with the service anywhere in the Country and saved significantly. Not having a contract is also nice

Bad assumption, have had the $14/gig price for 4 years...no increases, no contract. Or is it 3 years....hmmmmm?

If you're here in Florida you can get T-Mobile's 55+ plan. It's $55/year for two lines, unlimited talk, text, and data. We've had it for 5 years, and the coverage has gotten better every year. They now have more towers in the area than anybody else.

Another bonus - once you're T-Mobile you can cut the cord and go with YouTube TV with a $10/month discount as long as you're with T-Mobile!

I believe the T-Mobile plan is $55/month for two phone lines, rather than $55/year. Plus taxes and fees.
The Spectrum Mobile plan is $29.99/month per line (including taxes and fees) for unlimited talk/text/data. So 2 unlimited phone lines would be $59.98/month. Of course, that price requires that you also have Spectrum internet.

We moved into Fenney in June with T-Mobile. Reception in our house was extremely poor. Hard to believe because even we aren'tas close to the Turnpike as some other villages, we aren't that far . Maybe 5G reception is better? Switched to Spectrum, much better reception. Will miss MLB TV , which was free with T-Mobile as part of their T-Mobile Tuesday perks.

It wasn't a negative post it was just the fact that Spectrum and Xfinity are deprioritized.

Facts aren't negative they’re just facts.

Do you think Verizon is going to allow someone to sell the exact same service on their network cheaper?

If it's working out great for you that’s wonderful but keep in mind TV is growing fast and congestion issues may come into play down the road.

Thanks for all the comments! I feel pretty confidant that switching from AT&T to Spectrum Mobile will not be a mistake.

So the facts are considered negative now?

I would want all the facts before making an informed decision. Maybe someone is running a business with that phone line and may not want to risk being deprioritized.
I will tell you if you're ever at a crowded event like a sports stadium you might get deprioritized.

If it makes you feel any better the T-Mobile/MLB was a 3-year contract that ended last season. Maybe they will renew, who knows?

Is the YouTube TV offer still active, I thought that expired. T-Mobile has gotten better but I'm still sour that my Social Security number was hacked from them even know I wasn't a current customer at the time. I have no idea why they keep your SS# after you leave the company.

Not exactly. I have Xfinity Mobile cell service, with the by-the-gig plan, unlimited talk and text, and it uses the Verizon network. My monthly bill is $13.65 every month because I never use more than 1gb of data per month. According to Xfinity Mobile, the by-the-gig plans are never deprioritized. If you have their unlimited data plan, you can use 50gb of data per month before you can be deprioritized. But, if you have a 5g phone, you are never deprioritized regardless of how much data you use.
