45 or 50 on Morse Boulevard north of 466 is problematic because of the golf cart traffic on that stretch of road.

Couldn't have come any sooner. Speeders on Morse and Buena Vista are rampant as well as on 466 coming from Rolling Acres.

I'd much rather have people doing 10-15 over the limit driving near me than the ones doing 5-10 under and looking at their phones.

She never said she only violated the law twice. She said she only got caught twice.

All those EMPTY Sheriff’s cars that have been sitting on some of the main streets may now be manned by the Sheriff’s Deputies. Surprise, surprise to all the people who have been speeding past them.

Someone going 45 or even 50 on BV or Morse (south of 466) doesn't bother me in the least---they will just pass me and be on their way, and they are not a safety hazard. It's the person going 25 that poses a greater risk---as everybody makes some lame move to get around them. They won't get into an accident, but they will cause them

The persons driving above the limit are, for the most part, younger with better vision and reflexes than average. I don't think a NASCAR champion would poses a risk regardless of their speed. The 90 year old who can't see above the steering wheel is the threat, so go ticket them when they drive 20.

I don't see why so many Villagers get their undies in a bunch when someone passes them. I get passed all the time when going the speed limit----SO WHAT
I drive the speed limit in The Villages, as do most people. Where your going 50 on Morse is dangerous for me is when I’m trying to make a left turn, especially in a golf cart. I look at a car in the distance, assume it is going 35, but it’s actually going 50 and is coming up on me much faster than I expected. Because traffic on north Morse during busy periods is dependent on lights—cars come in spurts of twenty or thirty at a time—I can often squeeze a left turn in before a slower oncoming car, but I have to watch out for the cars that speed up to close the gap and arrive at the next light two seconds faster.

Safety IS the reason. There is a reason why speed limits exist.

No, it’s a safety blitz. Long overdue and should be continued.

Midwesterners are no nicer than New Yorkers. There are good and bad from every state.

You try living in the New York City area and see how you would handle it.

Just remember during 9-11 all those New Yorkers pulled together and helped each other.
Then most who could afford it got out of Dodge. Ask the residents of Connecticut and other close states how they feel. After 10 days in CT I can attest it is a constant negative conversation. I never lived in the City but it really does seem that those that did really do have an unnecessary edge and rudeness to them, and they seem to take impatience to another level. I sometimes find it really amusing to watch it in action, but not sure the waitresses or store clerks on the receiving end would agree.

When I was a very small girl, my grandfather who was an over six foot tall Irish descent Columbus, Ohio Police Officer for 37 years, took me for a visit to the city jail. He showed me a cell and locked me in for a moment and on the way there and on the way back he talked to me about why there are laws and what the good in them are and what happens to people who broke them. I cannot say I have never made a mistake or ever done anything wrong. I have done that thousands of times, but I have been pulled over twice and ticketed. I haven't ever run afoul of the law any other times. I haven't beat my spouse, or stolen anything. (Well not after my grandmother lectured me for taking apples from Mrs. Tracy's tree). I haven't as far as I remember broken any other laws but speeding. Let me think now. I haven't been to confession in a very long time.

That depends on whether or not you think only the crooks should have guns
