You can hop in your car and come on over, the arrangement for which you paid when you purchased your home in Stonecrest or Spruce Creek, etc.

Those putting out the cash for a street legal with insurance and licensing could probably afford a home in The Villages.

I just thought of something. If Stonecrest can't drive their carts here they cannot as easily play golf here, which would free up a lot of tee times.

So if they're not golfing here on the championship courses, they can just hop in their car to run errands. Problem solved since there is public transportation available to medical facilities, no?

Because of the alternative of using public roads to get to medical appointments and such I really don't see the stonecrest poa's letter referencing ADA holding water. Village residents having the priveledge of using the gate is no different than the stonecrest residents using their gates. The stonecrest gates abutt public property as well but the village residents arn't allowed to use those gates. I really don't see the letter doing any service to other community residents.

All Stonecrest gates are on private property which is quite different than those in the Villages!!!!

co519, I feel a bit sorry for you... it seems you want what The Villages has to offer but bought in the wrong community for your needs. Have you thought about moving here?

I'm aware only that the streets on the villages are for public use and none of the streets in stonecrest are. I believe if this new gate had been built for automobiles it would be a different story. I'm not the developer and I'm not a lawyer. They could very easily left that wall up. What if the access behind the power station by wallmart was fenced up. That is private property. Where would they go then?

The Paradise gate is not an automobile gate and is on private property now, I believe.

I really don't care either way on this issue, but I do believe it would be quite comical if a wall was built just outside the medical facilities to prohibit access from TV to the Lowes shopping center, Aldis and WalMart. Hmmmm.....I wonder if there would be any outcry over public access????

Really Peachie!!! Last thing I will ever need or want is for you to feel sorry for me!!! Yes we did consider the Villages but thanks to the poor sales person in TV we made what we consider a much wiser decision of buying in Stonecrest. If it is the cart trails that I want to ride it is that that I will do as it is my right to access these PUBLIC areas areas of the Villages but thanks for your concern!!!

I'm sure there would be a public outcry by those that trespass on those properties but it is the same set of circumstances. If one has built one's activities around illegal trespassing, one has little ground to stand on when it is halted. I would assume one day down the road, that access will close up for people living in The Villages too.

If you have a street legal, this should be a non-issue for you to start with and if the Stonecrest decision was much wiser, if baffles me as to why you need to be in The Villages so often.

Enjoy your street legal and the day!

Really. Why would anyone at Stonecrest come to The Villages to play golf. During the high season its almost impossible to get a teetime for a non-resident, and the golfing rates are more expensive than golfing outside The Villages.
