Ours has a small red shut off button on bottom. You turn it off before putting it back on the floor charger. If we forget, it starts cleaning the house at the times set on it.. We named ours ET!

I've heard that the early models of Alexa can get overloaded at times and there's a backlog of requests that takes time to work through....

I would also suggest watching "Automata" with Antonio Banderas on Amazon Prime. I could help you understand the depth and breadth of the problem.
And for those science buffs and deep thinkers......There are only a FEW elements that have 4 electrons in their outer ring - one is carbon, of which all animals are made - and another is silicon, of which all digital circuits components are made. Another commonality between animals and Roomba and etc is that before the 1st animal cells - the earth had clouds of electrical disturbances happening. That electricity MAY (?) have sparked (humor intended) the evolution (swear word to some) of the animal cell. So, within the circuits of a smart home or a Roomba, you have the raw material for life and also the electrical energy to jump-start it. Live long and keep a wary eye on your SMART phone. Who will end up the master and who the servant? |

OP, a few questions/comments: Does your TV use a fire stick or similar, and if so does this device turn on your TV? If so you may want to check for updates and make sure there are no extraneous settings. Do you have Alexa or a similar voice activated device in your house, and if so is it linked to either the TV or the Roomba, if so try disconnecting and see if this stops the random operations.

Ours has done the same thing. I don't know if it's chasing the cat or cleaning but it gets hung up on the door tracks to the lanai or going under chairs.

Something everyone should do, invite a priest over for lunch and have him bless the house.

That's the 1st step allowing the machines to self-actualize and then take over.
