Has anyone ever seen fist fights and yelling on flights like the news is reporting? I have never seen a peep out of people all my life. Maybe kids kicking the back of seats and bare feet on the seats. Are these American flights? Have you seen any? I can’t believe after 9/11 that anyone would cause trouble. I guess forced mask wearing is causing some of it and the mask police also not helping.by the way I fly about every 3rd month and one international in august.

When was the last time you were on a plane?

Remember all those unruly passengers you see on all the news shows are just the airlines using fake news because they don’t want customers I only believe the newsletter from Frankie who lives in his moms cellar , he gives good info like he told me about a horse medicine to cure Covid , I’ll have to thank him when I get out of hospital ,so don’t believe anything they say just ask us on talk of villages we know everything and what we don’t know we can ask Frankie

When the news has no news they make it up.

It is obviously all made up, just to make the anti-mask/anti-vax people look bad. Isn't that what the media does? And of course, the air marshalls are being paid off by the media to corroborate their lies.

I blame the airlines for much of the problem. As a business, they do things that other companies would never do.
1. They cram people into a space that is too small to be comfortable. 2. They design seats that recline about 3 inches, but when you recline, they know that the person behind you is going to be mad about it. 3. They charge different prices for almost every seat on the plane. Every seat should have a fixed price. 4. They charge their best customers (business travelers) the highest price for their seats than all other passengers. What business does that? 5. If you want to sit in the first class section, they charge you an arm and a leg for the seat. Way more than it is worth. 6. The employees act more like dictators than someone who is trying to satisfy their customers. 7. Some airlines won't even allow you to select a seat until you get on the plane. So, boarding is like musical chairs. 8. They allow people to cram stuff into the overhead bin for free, but charge you to check a bag. Why not require all the luggage to be in the same place? |

I did find this. I have a neighbor whose daughter is a stewardess. I could ask her to have her daughter look at Talk of the Villages. And there probably are frequent fliers who read TOTV. |

Do you want to go back to the days before deregulation when airlines set the price for your ticket if you want more space pay for it ,airlines before Covid were full of many bargains and it’s still cheaper now on real dollars then in the golden age when mostly well off and business people were regulars and when there was a crash at least once a year , do you all remember the insurance machines at airport , sure it can be tiring but the airline industry is pure democracy for the. rich or.poor they can all fly in the same plane the price you pay is just how comfortable you want to be and just like after you buy a car you shouldn’t ask what another guy paid , just don’t ask anyone else what they paid for ticket your ride will be better and calmer

Some of this is Covid-driven, to be sure, and some is that there are fuel issues for the airlines hence sudden cancellations. That's why there are so few direct flights they have to top off with fuel when they land. Having said that, I luckily have not witnessed unruly behavior by passengers but I know it happens occasionally but probably not as much as the sensational news wants you to believe. |

As frequent fliers ourselves, although a bit less so in the last 18 months, we can commiserate with the negatives mentioned by retiredguy123. Luckily however, we have not personally witnessed some of the meltdowns that make the news. However, you and Charlie both make excellent points in that we can now cover distances more quickly, efficiently and less expensively (comparatively), than we could have even imagined 50 years ago. While we also enjoy long and overnight train travel, both here and abroad, until we are loaded (as guinea pigs) in that little tube being proposed - flying is the best option out there. As has been said many times, "if you don't like things like this, no one is forcing you to do it."

The news does not tell about the millions of passengers per day that all do the right thing and have NO PROBLEMS!
The news promotes the isolated incidents/negatives making it sound like a general condition.......and some believe it! |

I mean, I flew a lot back then and never once got hijacked, so I guess the media was just starting the pot about hijacking then, like the media is telling us are about a$$hats refusing to follow the rules they agreed to when they bought their tickets and causing problems for everyone else because, you know, they got rights and nobody is gonna make them wear a mask if they don't want to. And it is not just airlines, it's restaurants, stores, pretty much any business that wants to require masks is taking a big chance on being a target of these people. |
