I know so many newer Villagers in their 50's dig Uncle Bob's Rock Shop, I do for one, and would like to see more 80's music at the squares. However, I really like the main drag at Universal Studios when you enter. Mel's Drive In and that whole 1950's persona could really be adapted here quite easily. Steak N Shake would fit in well, a Bob's Big Burger, various food franchises could adapt to the 50's. The radio station could built another studio and get more involved with square activities.

Just put a dome over it. With air conditioning. It will be the summer hot spot for the cool air. Have an Alaska theme for those that miss snow. Penguins walking loose would be cool. No cages.
A touch of the Wisconsin dells. All of the greedy stores could have open front like in Hawaii. One windmill should cover the electricity.

Am I the only one who does not think there will be another Square? I believe the master plan for TV is changing, definitely more homes and more golf courses and, of course, more commerce and shopping, but I don't think there will another square. I can envision the future villages in TV being built around the concept of Fenney; i.e. literally their own private entities providing much of what the residents want.

I also thought Lake Sumter Landing was opened in the image of a New England seaside village so I guess you don't need to limit your guesses to something in Florida.. The Building of Brownwood - Morse Family Interview Part 1 - YouTube

Too far with an electric cart; gas will make it but you'd better pack a lunch for the journey.

I am not sure, but based on what I have heard they sold less than 1000 new homes in 2017, a far cry from their heydays of 3-4000 per year. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a new town square. |

This number is wrong. According the the Daily Sun, the population of The Villages now is about 116,000.

The Villages is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sumter County, Florida, United States. It shares its name with a broader master-planned age-restricted community that spreads into portions of Lake and Marion counties. The Villages consistently ranks as a very high growth area. The U.S. Census ranked The Villages as the fastest-growing U.S. city for the second year in a row (during the 12 months ending in July 2014);[4] As of April 2016, the total population of The Villages reached 157,000 people, due to new areas stretching from Fruitland Park to South SR 44.
