Default Took a late night golf cart ride

to Wal Mart last Thursday evening with a couple of friends. It was about 10:45 pm, and as we passed Paradise Rec center, all 3 of us simultaneously exclaimed "I smell pot!!"
We kept going and as we were headed back, at the same spot we smelled it again. We slowed down and looked around and sure enough, a guy is standing outside the door of the rec center smoking a joint. He didn't even care that we were staring at him! I'm assuming it was a janitorial crew, but they must have been smoking it for a while since it had been 30 minutes since we first smelled it!
It made me wonder if it's a regular occurrence and they just figure nobody who lives nearby is awake, but the smell was certainly strong!

anyone who went to college in the 60s and 70s know the smell....and I wouldn't assume it was the janitorial staff...at the VA I worked at a lot of veteran's used it...said it helped with pain, nerves, etc.

If you have been to many a concert in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and after it is quite easy to recognize that smell even if you have not tried any. Went to a Bette Midler concert at Red Rocks around 1984 in Colorado and from the back of the crowd it was quite smoky.

Wasn't just assuming. He had a broom and another guy who walked out had a mop. Unless they were OCD burglars, I'm going with janitorial crew.

That last sentence was hilarious! I can just picture OCD burglars.

I am sure almost all of us know at least the fragrance of pot. Personally, I would rather have the janitors smoke pot - outside - than to be drinking booze. I just want the Rec. centers clean. If the cleaning crew smokes a joint, so what?

We are all adults here.

Some of us are older than others but we know what pot smells like.

We didn't just fall off a turnip truck.

We have sex too.

Gracie, old but not dead.

My thoughts exactly. I'm not one to confront folks or try to cause a scene. I was actually a little shocked, though, because there are a lot of people who are not so "live and let live". Reading this board and all of the posts asking "why didn't you confront them" tends to give one a tainted view of how things really are. I have encountered a couple of "confronters" while in TV, and I just laughed it off and wondered why they weren't at home posting on the board.

You mean besides the fact that it's illegal?? You mean besides that fact that their illegal drug use is contributing to a serious national criminal operation that contributes to the deaths of many US Border Patrol officers and police officers of all stripes? You mean besides that? Yes..Such a little thing.

Oh great. Here we go.

The nice lady took a ride in the middle of the night, and ran into someone smelling like pure Columbian and now we are going to have a big ole argument.

There are a bunch of nice folks riding around too in the middle of the night and they are The Village Watch.

Perhaps, you know, they need to know stuff like this, it is important to feel needed.

I have a headache. Don't fight.
