Default Belk in Spanish Springs

I went into the fine jewelry department today. A month ago I purchased an emerald pendant for my wifes birthday for $600. She wanted matching earrings. The clerk acted like I was putting her out asking about them.
Discustedly asked if I used a Belk card or service agreement. I asked if she could look up my name or phone as we had purchased several items in the past. Cant do it, slapped a stack of sales slips on the counter and said she would have to look through them to find the number of the pendant I bought. Another clerk came over and said she would look in the EFFE book
to find a copy. After many sighs and eye rolls they found the item.
Now could not find any earrings anywhere near a match and the only ones were $2,000.
All in all a terrible experience, and last time I will buy anything there.

I like Belks, it's my favorite department store. Now, that being said, I would never buy jewelry in a department store, that is why God created jewelry stores.

We went there recently because they were offering 40% off on Sketchers. We picked out our shoes and when we went to the checkout to pay we couldn’t get the discount without downloading their app and creating an account. We walked out without new shoes.

It pays to read the fine print.

Getting to be more and more common these days. Are they saving money by using less ink? Ha Ha

I'm trying to figure out why you thought your experience was worthy of being posted. Go to a discount store you should expect discount service.

How about taking a picture of your wife's jewellery so you can show the next clerk what you are trying to match?

I never considered Belk to be a discount store.

Thought Belk looked more like Macys when I first came here but it does look more like a discount store now. Too bad. I suppose if you want a really super shopping experience, you have to go to the Mall at Millenia.

Default Gone downhill ...

Our early experiences shopping at Belk were far better than our last recent attempt. While we were not treated rudely by staff, there seemed to be a general lack of interest on their part, as well as a noticeable lack of inventory. Unless I were in the middle of a transaction, I don't feel obliged to waste my time looking for a manager to bring this to her or his attention. Managers should be out there handling staff training and other issues, observing, and making corrections and suggestions, not be tucked away in an office somewhere and being unaware of what's going on in the store other than via complaints by customers....

Your so right. Most managers are tucked away in an office almost hiding so they won’t have to help their staff or engage with customers. Disappointing.
