Does anybody know, or wish to hazard a guess, as to why Halloween trick or treating is off the books? I'm guessing that maybe it violates the "no solicitation" rule.
I am thinking Talk Host that there are a good number of folks who live here who would not like some masked, spooky person knocking on their doors....and some of those who might be annoyed........, (I read it right here) have guns.

I agree that door-to-door trick or treating was fun when we were kids. Back in those days, we also knew every one of our neighbors and rarely locked our doors.

Many communities now offer halloween events to discourage door-to-door trick or treating. Many police agencies advise against it. Many now offer screening service to try to detect tampering with treats.

I agree that TV is a safe neighborhood, but not all the neighborhoods nearby are. Many people no longer feel safe opening their doors to strangers.

In this day and age, not allowing door-to-door trick-or-treating seems sensible.

Just teasin' a bit Pats.

And to be truthful, I would give pause to opening my door to someone I had not a clue who they are even in this safe community...but I have a....rolling pin.

I'll post again when it gets closer.
Did any of you read posts 2,3, and 6?
