I agree that TV is a safe neighborhood, but not all the neighborhoods nearby are. Many people no longer feel safe opening their doors to strangers.

In this day and age, not allowing door-to-door trick-or-treating seems sensible.
And...can you imagine some of the older folks trying to get out of their comfy sofas or chairs some 50 times or so? Some with canes and some with walkers? Then, can you imagine some from the "outside" acting like they are trick or treating and gaining access to your home? It's different in a generationally mixed neighborhood, but IMHO, not here. Where we used to live, I knew how many bags of candy to buy because I knew approximately how many kids would come to the door. It was fun then. But here? It would be a PITA.

The Marion County Sheriff's office at the corner of Buena Vista and CR 42 (Mulberry Grove area) annually hosts a trick or treat party for kids and their families - they have a live dj, games, hot dogs, and prizes for all of the kids along with treats. They also bring their k-9 units, helicopter for the kids to see and their horses as well. I've gone for the last 3 years and usually see about 300-500 people over the course of the evening. The kids trick or treat from game to game, booth to booth.
