Yes, but they certainly know what their buying. Replaced mine with Anderson 10 years ago. Still going going strong and still look like new. You get what you pay for.

not put in vinyl or wood so they don’t get so hot? Oh, because they have someone to sell you insulation. They don’t even give you a light in the ceiling fans. What does that cost, $10? Found the whole house and TV in general to be smoke and mirrors.
Regarding the garage door, it has to be aluminum because of the code it cannot be wood (too heavy) or vinyl (expands and shrinks) also have to have inside braces for hurricane protection, the sliders and windows you are correct, they are “builders grade” which are compliant but cheap, all builders do this, unless you are contracting your own and specifying what quality and brands you want. As the light on the ceiling fan, well a lot of people don’t want them, and the ceiling fan is also “builders grade”

Rather surprised that our bedroom fans didnt come with light kits. Purchased 3 light kits at big box stores and had handyman put them in. Total was just over $ 100 for all 3 including installation.

I’ll let you know as I’m trying to find out what brand, a copy of the full warranty and the warranty for the repair

That’s good to know. I am asking for the warranty for the windows as well as the warranty for the repair

Also the house did not come with rain gutters. Big surprise after the first heavy rain

The warranty department referred me to T&D who explained that the windows were under warranty. The warranty covered the glass which I would not be charged for however the labor to install the windows would be $150 !
Has anyone else had windows that failed this early?
Any experience with a replacement window installer? If these fail this early perhaps a replacement window with a better warranty makes more sense
Typically seal failure (what you have) is covered for a long period of time. However, labor is rarely part of the warranty after one year. The $150 charge after such a short period is a shame. The labor "COST" is closer to $50. The manufacturer would typically just provide a new sash to the dealer/builder at no charge. Then, the laborer would take the old sash out and replace it with the new one. My guys would take about 5 minutes to do this. A "better" window would not matter, this is all about the builder making money on a service that a reputable guy would do at COST. (I owned a window company for 32 years)

about 3 years into our home we noticed moisture inside one of the small 'arch' windows situated over a larger window...called warranty...told to call the original installer...paid the installation price, replacement window was 'no charge'.

it took about 5 weeks for them to replace the window...

I have a small glass-enclosed lanai(2nd owner), and the windows on the west-facing side are showing stress cracks?! I didn't seem them on inspection(purchased 1 1/2yrs ago), as they originated in and around the seals. They're now starting to spread out. The label on the windows reads..."Removable panel SHALL be removed when wind speeds exceed 75mph." Not sure if this was caused by Irma, as I don't think we have experienced any gusts that great? Regardless, I'm not sure if these are covered under warranty or not? Hopefully, they can be replaced with something stronger that can withstand gusts?
