Of course we still have watering restrictions. Next will come is an adjustment to our watering bills because the company is hurting because we are not buying enough water from them.

happinow - i would be on my lanai with my computer; then i'd put that down and pick up my crocheting; when tired of that i'd work on some cryptogram puzzles; before too long i would put on a pot of homemade chicken or split pea soup for supper; and somewhere with all of that to do i would have made sure to dust, vaccuum, clean the bathrooms and do the laundry so that as soon as the sun came out - i would, too!

now my husband - he would do nothing except wait for the soup to be ready!

Movies, games, crafts or taking a nice long nap?
Nap with a loved one!

English Ivy thanks for the info. I have a daughter in New Orleans so we watch the weather very carefully. NO is getting ready for the TS Debby also. Katrina has made everyone aware of what the storms can do!

Default Not a good day/night

I'm sorry but I'm a nervous Nelli tonight. The wind and rain so hard we can't see across the golf course. Our landscaping we just put in, the bark chips have washed out all over the Side of the yard and probably out to the road by now. We are very concerned about the water washing away the back of our house landscaping. Will call home warranty tomorrow to have them take a look. Hubby also had to go out and hook up the hose to drain the pool....it probably would have over flowed in the night. I'm kind of a wreck tonight....sorry. We just aren't use to these storms. Luckily I have weather alert on my phone and it has gone off twice today. I will sleep uneasy tonight. I will eventually develop a tougher skin for the south I just need some time.

Just finished detailing my car and my wife's new car. The only difference is you get to enjoy beautiful Florida (even with the rain) while I get to look at trees and woods, and sticks in my yard, and tall grass that needs cutting. Stinking ticks crawing up my legs when I do yard work. YUK! Yes, I am whining...can't help it. Enjoy paradise.

Cleaned out the wine rack a bit...

Tis a fine, soft day!

May also rain this coming week two times....once for three days, once for four.

A nice glass of wine and good movie....for those who have a husband (or a wife) in the house a little snuggle might be nice. For the rest of us another glass of wine will have to do.......

Last month I was wishing for a tropical storm to end the drought and now we've got it!

If you haven't experienced tropical weather before, it can be unsettling. But we're not in a coastal area subject to storm surge and flooding. Most likely your new landscaping will survive and flourish. Just think, the rain is filling the ponds and watering the golf courses! Plus, it's not even hot for a change.

Hopefully your night will be better than you expect. Once you get a little experience and see what needs to be battened down or brought indoors, the rest is having a good plan, i.e. if you have to leave, know where you will go and let family and friends know your plan. Know what you will do if you lose power for a few days. There are a lot of good preparedness plans out there. Try the Red Cross website. Once you have the basics covered, you'll tend to sleep better. I think it is the worry of what if something happens that troubles us all the most, mainly because we failed to prepare a plan for severe weather.

Hopefully Debby will just drop some needed rain and move on out.
