I sure do NOT want to be identified as a Republican.
Independent sounds like I do not stand for anything.
You should have just had a line for CONSERVATIVE.

I am an independent, and while I respect your opinion, I feel I stand for what I believe is right, not what any party or group tells me is right. Sometimes I think like a Republican, and other times like a Democrat, and then sometimes like neither.

Very well said.

And then take into account how often we end up voting only "for" the lesser of two evils that are either a D or an R, because they are the only electable choices we get on a ballot.

Often, the personal integrity of a particular candidate is not reflected at all by the integrity of the party.

In fact, personal integrity often gets a trustworthy candidate thrown under the bus by his party (both are guilty), so that a more charismatic liar/impostor can rise to the top and win at any cost to the electorate.

I'm beginning to get the feeling that TV has a lot more liberals than I thought considering how often I meet liberals who are afraid to admit/discuss their political viewpoints.

No one needs to add a response, this is just a poll.

Interesting!
This is a great poll showing how the
Bradley effect

could very well take effect here in TV.
Here's one open for suggestion:
And just spozin' here.....what if some family were morally conservative, fiscally and politically somewhat liberal/progressive, card-carrying GOP members, and often voted for the democratic issues and candidates.
They post a yard sign and stick bumperstickers on that say:
another Republican for (a candidate of a non Republican affiliation)
Those things get attention!!

Thanks for the poll, Red,
We do know who you are!
you are not a witch!
are you??

Democrat is not much better.

I thought it would be nice to let the non-Republicans see there are other, like-minded folks actually living in TV and to know they are real people even if they choose to be anonymous.
You have a choice for Democrat and then for Liberal..
and Republican and Independent.
It seems like If you are a liberal, and not a democrat, then you are probably VERY liberal.
Likewise, if you are conservative, but not Republican you are conservative, not an Independent.
I still think the choices should have been, Conservative, Republican, Moderate (Independent), Democrat, Liberal.. on a continuum.
Or said another way, Very conservative, conservative, moderate, liberal, very liberal.
Sorry I am so anal.

JJ that was not anal at all
Red had a great idea and great ideas can develop

there should be a couple hundred votes soon and another one with that sliding scale can envelop

this shows that there are more than one answer, just as in real life - it's a broad, gray area, not a fine line

Careful going across that centerline with that big 'scoot.
There might be a Winnie coming the other way!

On a more serious note, like TV, there are 'birds that are less than permanent line-crossers. when the curtains close, it's in your hands.

And what so many fail to realize? Not voting is voting!!
