While we are griping the thing that really gets under my skin is really loud motorcycles. I love when at midnight you can hear one over half the village. Why is this allowed?

I’m pretty sure all the states that have it legalized don’t allow it to be smoked in a public place. Only the confines of your home.

I would either spit at them or fart at them. And then say "Sorry, I am trying to kick this habit"

The county should pass an ordinance to not allow smoking in certain public squares. But they won't because the commissioners are controlled by the developer.

I like to eat outdoors at restaurants and I hate having a meal spoiled by the smell of someone smoking. I wish more restaurants would not allow it on the patio.

For the same reason we tolerate peoples dogs. We all pay to live here. Go to a smoke free place if thats what you want.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Good point. I should have noted he was only driving 15 mph. Taking his time enjoying his cigar. Probably couldn’t go home until it was finished!

Smoking should be banned in the entire Villages. If they want to die that bad, them smoke those stinky things in their own home!

[People have right to smoke, but I have a right not to. Smokers should not be allowed to walk around and through crowds or general public and smoke.
Rude and inconsiderate.[/QUOTE]

So where does your right end and smokers rights begin?
You're basically implying they can only smoke in their homes/private places. Their argument can be that you also can stay in your home/private places if you don't like it.
No one gets more 2nd hand smoke than smokers do.
Your title mentions "Tolerate". Our Nation was built on cotton and tobacco and our greatest strength was our diversity and tolerance. Today, there is little tolerance, people want to ban anything they don't like and the difinition of diversity (people from a range of different social and ethnic backgrounds ) has been twisted to include sexuality.
There is no "tolerance" left in our country- and that's simply shameful.

From a non-smoker
Maybe we should also ban religious symbols, political flags in front of homes and on golf carts and let's not forget those Gnomes. Look most of the people who live here in The Villages this is their last stop, I learn to tolerate many things I don't like with that in mind. But I still don't trust those creepy Gnomes what do think they do when we are all asleep.

Yes, it does. For me it reminds me of my grandfather. I can't say it smells good but it brings back good memories.
