do you have evidence of that 98%? I'd say it's an over the top assumption at best. Here's a reality it's far more than that. You're just not observant.

Not a smoker, but that is where smoking is permitted, but not within the square itself.

Try the bleachers at Paddock Square.

Coming from a tobacco grower family, I can say smoking was much more prevalent while in the south than when living in the north.
Dad smoked a pipe brings back memories of that cherry sweet smoke. Father in law smoked quality cigars. If one has ever been around a true Cuban it’s very unique.
I didn’t like to smoke pipe or cigars, but smoking cigarettes in very young teens in the south was pretty normal. Quit at 29 on an extremely large $$$$ bet, after I won the bet I never went back to that 2 pack a day habit.

So I don’t mind when someone smokes an expensive cigar, and sometimes cigarette smoke can trigger maybe just a moment.

But what I haven’t been able to tolerate or get used to is the lack of hygiene in both male and female, covered up by tons of cheap perfumes and cologne. It’s just gagging between the scent and the body order that they think is covering the smells.

So we’re ok with legalizing cannabis but objecting to cigar smoke? While I enjoy a good cigar I never don’t around other people. It’s common courtesy that many people don’t have

From a non-smoker
Learn to live and let live.
I'm sure there are things you are unaware of that people can't stand about you but are too polite to mention.
You'll live a lot longer if you don't let thinks get under your skin.

I believe that if you are in the parking spaces you can smoke there just not on the sidewalk.

Plus we are ALL free to walk away, drive your golf cart to a new location, leave completely, etc. Example, yesterday was enjoying a coffee with a friend on the patio of the local Dunkin' D, when a man sat down to enjoy smoking his pipe. Our ONLY choices were to go inside where smoking is not permitted, or leave completely. He had every right to sit on the patio and smoke. People at the public squares are "requested" NOT to smoke on the inner part of the square where dancers gather, but have every right to smoke outside on public land... or at least that's how I have always understood "smoking" areas all over the USA ? My most terrifying memories of childhood were being on flights with my parents (also non smokers) and thinking I was going to actually DIE from the smoke that always got even worse on the plane as soon as we finished meals. Those "meals" were served on REAL plates with REAL flatware, no plastic "sporks", but at age 8-10 was aware that as soon as we ate our food, the adults would be lighting their cigarettes... LOL. They might still smoke at public shopping squares here and everywhere, but at least not on planes anymore !
Bless You

Left the Peoples Republic of NJ to live in the Free State of Florida.

There is No Smoking in the Squares.

"so why do we allow such a minority" because you were free to leave or move along to another area, your attitude is the problem, if the majority smoked, should they be allowed to ban you because they found you offensive?

So, you're one of those with the illegal unregistered vehicles!

Apparently, he is. It's called violating a law that he disagrees with to evade someone who is exercising his rights under the law. Ironic, isn't it????

PS: to the person you were responding to, they weren't seeding the air with birds. (Foul vs fowl)
