Dear all,
Now back in the UK and missing TV already, can't wait to get back.
We had the pleasure of meeting Rusty and Janice for a night out, the night before we flew back and we can tell you that they are a great couple in person, not just in print!and we are now more convinced than ever that our time in TV and Gilchrist will be great and maybe a little crazy.
We have decided to change our handle to one that is more relevant to us 'Junction29', as we live close to J29 of the M1 in the UK, we have bought Plot 29 in Gilchrist and for years now have pretended to be 29 years old! after that old phrase "Oh to be 29 again"

Any word on your house in TN?
WVMtnBoy: Rusty, from what I've been reading, methinks you will be repaid in Corona for all your efforts!

A-4: when I saw the pic of you, our car and what I assumed to be your (house) neighborhood in TN, it looked lovely. I'm certain the right buyer is just around the corner!

Rona -
I hope you're right about a buyer being just around the corner. We live in a miniature version of The Villages in a retirement golfing community called Tellico Village. Most of the people who live here are from further north and wanted to escape the high taxes, cost of living, and SNOW. People who come here from up north want to be within a days drive of kids and grand kids. We love it here, but after getting a taste of The Villages, we love it there even more. So we'll sell here, store our stuff, move to our cottage in Sanibel, and then design & build a Zinnia in Fernandina 206.

If you know of anyone up north that wants to come half way down and is looking for a good deal, send them this link:
Lakeside Real Estate Group - 207 Cheestana Way

Also, anyone who wants to get on our south of 466A spreadsheet, send me a PM.

Wow A-4 Skyhawk
Made the mistake of following the link to your lovely home 'up north', very surprised that you are having trouble selling it, it looks really great.
A good job we have already bought in TV otherwise Wendy would probably 'force' me to buy yours, she really likes it.
We will pass on your home site details to any of our friends that are looking to perhaps buy in the states to see if there is any interest there.
This type of home at this price is really good value for us in the UK with the current exchange rate between the dollar and the pound

Hi John & Wendy aka 29ers!
When does your build begin and when do you anticipate coming back to TV? I am now in full swing and can't hardly contain myself with each new picture! Hopefully we will all get to meet you this winter and can get to know one another! I look forward to it and best of luck to you!

I don't think we're having trouble selling our house because of the house or the price. I just think that people north of Florida are scared about the economy, their investments, and how upside down the northern housing market is. This time of year, with the leaves starting to show color, is when people from SNOW country are here looking for a milder climate they can afford to retire in. Our Broker says the lookers just aren't here this year. Wouldn't you know it. Sooner or later it'll sell . . . . we just want it sooner. By the time I get there, Rusty and HotRod will have drunk all the Corona (anoroC) and sold my damn Corona Truck

A-4, LOVE your home in TN and glad you are willing to leave such a wonderful place to come and be with us in TV! Not sure who your realtor may be, but there are people here in IL who retire down your way. Wondering if they have passed the link on to realtors here, as TN is becoming an increasingly popular destination for northerners! Hope you have an offer very soon! Can't wait to see what you do with your new home! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Wait til next week! The progress should be absolutely amazing! You will be caught up in no time and enjoying all those pictures! I live in anticipation of seeing how things are progressing and am always amazed at what gets done! It amazes me, and even my general contractor with whom I partner up here! Your castle will be up and running soon!

Not being there must be raising your anxiety level I suppose.

We have our design date of 12/13...assuming the 15th we sign off they should begin just before or after Christmas.

We'll be there by Dec 1st, but will go back for the holiday, returning the 27th, just in time to bug the builder everyday during the build.

Sitting here in NY on a cool rainy day sketching the master bath, I now have 4 versions.
Next is the front bedrooms thinking about bumping (30") out BD #2 even across with bd #1, that's easy.

See floor plan

The standard plan would just be having a straight across facade with two flat dbl windows on each.

Was thinking perhaps of a bow window on bd # 2 with a witches hat?

Or just two bows one on each bdrm.

Any ideas welcome

Hang in there, A-4! The right buyer will come along at the right time and you'll be down here before ya know it! I promise you we will save a Corona for you and I'll get a rental space in Oxford for the truck so no worries there!

Lol @ RB! I've had a good time doing all of this stuff and it really makes it feel like a neighborhood when you can share with your friends! You do have to watch out for the more sneaky ones though (A-4)!!!!

I have to admit that I do the very same thing. I love hearing from my neighbors and feel a little down when I don't do so. But you're right...it is funny. I'm sure that you'll be amazed at the pics from tomorrow. I feel like something good is going to happen to your lot in the a.m. We'll keep you posted!

I think you will be happy with as many stretches as you can.If you choose to make the 2 bedrooms straight across the front, I would do something to give that area some differentiation. I would put a straight bay in one of them only, both for character and the fact that the straight bay allows for more space. I chose that for my front bedroom, but that was just what I liked. You may very well differ on that!
So excited for you and can't believe you have 4 sketches for the master bath! You are better at thinking that through than I am I think in hindsight I may have made 2 smal changes, one structural, but too late now! In the end result I know I will be thrilled wth the outcome.
I am so excited for everyone building and it will be most interesting to see all the changes and how our homes differ and complimet each owner!
