Jimbo, I have a spa (outdoor hot tub) here in Chgo and love it. Should have added it as I think I will miss it! Perhaps next year when I recover financially! Then again maybe I can blow all the circuits and heat up my mini splash pool!

A-4, yours will come along soon enough, but at least you are down there renting! I don't get to enjoy for another 2 months yet! You know we're all going to invade your space when you close.....

That's part of my problem. I'm real estate poor. Besides this house in TN, we bought the cottage in Sanibel. All I need to do is start building in Fernandina and end up owning 3 houses with 3 POA fees and 3 tax bills and 2 bonds and God knows what else and I'll end up in the poor house. By the way, Your Invasion is Approved !!!!

Thanks for the response Rusty, just trying to figure out this web site and the diffeences between quick post and private messages. Have a great evening.

This neighborhood is just going to kick-a**. That's my prediction!!

You wouldn't believe how it's grown since all of you were down here. The golf course lots are really going up fast...in addition to the other area. Boy are you gonna be amazed!

It's not too hard once you get used to it's little idiosyncracies! On only realy diff is that private messages (PM's) can only be seen by the addressee and quick posts go directly onto the public message board. You're doing great!!!

I have electric as it is so small. Could have had gas because I already have propane. They just would have made the tank larger. I did think about solar, but as I am not full time yet I wanted to heat quickly. Perhaps in the future I may give that some serious thought!

Tell the babies not to worry, Hotrod. I've not let Gracie "inaugurate" any part of the area so they will have the first honors...

I am actually in that boat. But luckily just sold my investment property this last week. However, I point out I had 2 previous sales on this property that fell through this one should finalize and close on Nov 5th.
Good luck on selling your place in TN. I was amazed by the pictures and don't see that it should be very long before you have an offer!

Jimbo2012: thanks...we bought the lot for the view and we love it. Yes, we will be getting solar but it's aftermarket. We have a propane tank for the spa and summer kitchen...but will be subsidizing with solar (actually, the proprane will subsidize the solar, I think).

Has anyone done the payback calculation on solar for a pool or hot tub? With the low utility rates in TV, I'm not sure if it would be worth the cost to install and having an eyesore on the roof.
