Water treatment people have been illegally soliciting in The Villages for years. And new residents constantly fall for their phony stories. I've lived here for 12 years and drank the water from the tap. Do you want a filter system? Go to the Sears store on 27/441 and buy one there. They will install it for you and its self cleaning. No filters to add. Don't pay these crooks thousands of dollars......

I agree with you.

We had a strong smell in our water I had our water tested twice by two different companys. Both wanted to sell me a $2500 to $3500 water treatment system. The company's were TAS Environmental and Culligan both wanted to install a water softener and a whole filter. Then I found NOVA Water Filtration on TOV. Bob installs a whole house triple cartridge filter $299 for Unit Only $425 Installed!!! 631-338-1048 Bob Village Resident. Solved all my water issues very pleases and the filters mount on the wall by your water shutoff valve. Filters should last one year depending on your water usage.

Same here...we installed a whole house filtration system (and reverse osmosis under the sink) and have no regrets. Expensive, but no one put a gun to our heads.

Shortly after we moved in we installed a filtration system to avoid the hard water issues on pipes, laundry, etc. we were also told by our veterinarian not to let our dogs drink the tap water. Suggested filtered water from the refrigerator, bottled water or other filtration system Also recommended we wipe off their paws after walking outdoors to remove pesticides and recycled irrigation water from the pads of their feet. Good tips for pet owners!

I really wasn't going for a laugh on this one.

My red face is warming the room.

Default Higher chlorine content?

Hi -

We had a whole house filtration system (paper and carbon filters) installed last September and have been very happy with the odor-free water. Occasional replacement of the filters is easy. The amount of "stuff" trapped by the paper filter is amazing.

Recently the chlorine taste has been reappearing shortly after the filters have been replaced. Has anyone else--especially those with similar filtration systems--noticed the same increase in the taste of chlorine?

Thanks!

Cheers,
Paul

I have a Kinnetico and love it. The drinking water tastes good but you're also keeping your plumbing, pipes, etc. clean.
I would NOT drink Florida water!

Graciegirl,
Don't feel low. Even when you don't mean to, you lift (no pun intended) everyone's spirits. I chuckled when I read your post and knew it would only be a matter of time before someone responded.

Simple, the filters are not seated correctly in their chambers, you are experiencing bypass aka no filtered water.

Nova water filters being commercial not residential can only go together one way fully seated.

ps: paper filters am I reading your note correctly?

Thanks for the heads up on the "welcome lady".
We closed on Thursday, were out putting donuts on the sprinkler
Heads and first came the woman selling meat and food from the back of the truck (ugh). Next came the welcome lady - while we were out working.
My DH didn't know and told her he's busy.
Do they really think when you're busy that is a good time to sell
you something?

My water here in Sunset Pointe , from the faucet, has a metallic taste to it. I have also solved the issue with a Pur filter on the tap. No need to spend a lot of money for filtration here.

I was a buyer for the PUR brand when Procter & Gamble owned it, in fact I was in the start up company before they acquired it, they make excellent water filters that are NSF tested. Your drinking water is essential to your health in my opinion, and the minimum testing that is required by municipalities is not to my standards of safe drinking water. I am not promoting the brand, I have no interest in the company anymore. It's just from experience in the field of water filtration that has my interest, just get a good water filter that is NSF tested, there are a few good ones out there.
