GO RONDA, you can do it!!!! When I stopped 20 years ago, I was smoking 2 cartons a week. It's hard, but not impossible. Never went back to it either, although I love the smell of someone else's when I'm having a drink!

My dearest friend here in Cincy has been without cigarettes for almost two weeks. I am so proud of you and her.

A lot of us started early to smoke as it was quite sophisticated and chic years ago. All that has changed now. I think of you Rhonda as a sophisticated person. I know you can do it.

(Also sweet, smart, and sassy.)

Your bud.

RR .. I'd imagine that many of us were smokers at some point and understand the difficulty in what you're doing. I stopped smoking 20 years ago. I was motivated by the fact that I didn't want my kids to smoke, and I wanted to set a good example for them. Without that motivation, I probably would have caved.

So .. it is very evident how much you love your children and grandchildren ... stay strong for them! They need you around. I know you're a strong and gutsy person. Hang in there. You're doing great. wav

I quit Dec 6,1979
I was motivated by not wanting to die at 34! I suffered a heart attack at 34. Was smoking 3 1/2 packs a day had gone from Winston to Merrit those funny cigs with the holes. made me smoke triple what I was smoking.

I never smoked another cigarette again, but till this day I believe if I have one i would be hooked all over again. Just don't do it!!!!!

Think about this for every pack you don't buy, you could buy a gallon of gas.

When I last smoked a pack only cost .55 cents ;D

Ronda,
Tom and I quit 15mos ago. Can't even begin to tell you how happy that makes me. I had always heard that quitting was good for you but the cravings would last for the rest of you life. NOT True! The cravings will last for as long as you allow them to last.
During an after I had quit craving, somewhere near the beginning, I asked myself these simple questions.
Who made you quit? Of course the answer was "Me."
Who is making you miserable with cravings? Of course the answer was "Me."
"So I asked myself "If you are doing what you wanted yourself to do by quitting smoking, why are you allowing "you" to to make "you" miserable by allowing cravings?"

Honestly the answer to that question and a 5lb bag of mini Tootsie rolls and I was home free. I think we have saved about $4000-$5000 since quitting and feel and smell so much better. Enjoy your new freedom, Ronda you are going to love being a non-smoker and so is everyone around you.

Keep up the good work! I know how hard it is to quit -- I quit once for 6 months. Wish I could quit again. I might succeed one day but not now. So, I'll quit vicariously through you for now. If you need some moral support, give me a holler. I promise I won't smoke in front of you.

Good for you Rok. Keep up the good work. I quite back in the 80's and never regretted it. Just take it one step at a time. We are all rooting for you.
