Re: 24 hours without a cigarette
Ronda, I'm so proud of you. This must be so hard, thank goodness I didn't find it that difficult, except when I was having a Scotch, but those days are over also. Gee, what a boring life I have now....
Anyway, keep it up and the party at my house will be for your success and my birthday!! See ya Sept. 1 or thereabouts. Love, Kath

Re: 24 hours without a cigarette
It'll get easier Ronda. The guy I fished with the other day leaned over and his cigs fell out of his pocket into the water. I told him it'd be a great time to quit. We quit fishing. Not exactly the quit I had in mind. YOU can do it. F16 |

Oh My Goodness, Thanks everyone!! Almost 34 hours, and no cough this AM! I smoked 1 pack a day! Also, I told Bright to light up when we were together yesterday, so don't worry about smoking around me. I've done this before, but relapsed.Ok getting busy, coffee, shower and work today! 3 appts. Keep busy! Keep busy! Maybe I'll get this house clean tomorrow! Ed had better be a good patient driver today, or I might growl and BITE!! Only kidding, I have been pretty calm. AFTER 24 Hours!! Your blood pressure drops to a normal rate for you.
The temperature of your hands an feet increases to normal. 8 hours The carbon monoxide level in your blood drops to normal. Ability to smell and taste begins to improve. 2 weeks to 3 months Your circulation improves. Walking gets easier. Your lungs perform up to 30 percent better. 1 to 9 months There's less coughing, sinus congestion, tiredness, and shortness of breath. Cilia (tiny hairs) re-grow in your lungs to better handle mucous, clean your lungs, and reduce infection. 1 year after quitting Your extra risk of coronary heart disease is half that of a smoker's 5 to 15 years Your stroke risk goes down to that of a nonsmoker. 10 years after quitting The lung cancer death rate is about half that of a person who still smokes. Re: 42 hours without a cigarette
Something over four years since I quit - more or less cold turkey, during a bout with the flu! Feel much better, house is clean, all my non-smoking friends are happy for me.
WAY TO GO GIRL!!!!! SWR
