Yup, it's doable! I too quit cold turkey, ~ 17 years ago. You can succeed.

I keep watching this thread to see how many hours. You are doing fantastic!! Keep it up! I have never smoked so I really can't empathize with how hard this is for you. But I'm cheering for you just the same. Way to go!!!!!

;D 48 hours!!! wow...I can't believe it, I am doing fine!! Zyban has taken the edge off. I was ready and am doing it for myself and my family. I know it will get easier and easier. ......and Nonie, I was bowing to the GREAT FUMAR ! LOL although I have said a prayer..... :bigthumbsup:

Way to go Rhonda. I think you are so brave to do this with all of us watching.

I quit many years ago. You will have good days and bad as time goes on but all you need to do is look at that beautiful granddaughter of yours to know it is all worth the effort.

This morning I thought, mmmm, wouldn't a cig taste so good. NO NO NO NO!! I am being my own therapist with all your help! Thanks to all of you for such encouraging words. Now I'm over 59 hours! wooo hooo!

RR - it's my understanding that the physical need for nicotine is over at about 72 hours. After that point it's just in your head, not your body. Get through the next 1/2 day and you've got the hard part licked!
