I very much agree.

I think that several people are using red herring arguments.

We do need to be very afraid at this time of extreme Islamic groups.

Thank you, IMO this adds credence to the thing. Glad to see it's based on principle and not some group of chit stirrers.

I have never said any topic was political or gone whining to get a thread closed.

Yes, let's discuss the merits, what are they? What if anything does this accomplish?

Just look at the title of this thread. It is not an accident, perhaps a Freudian slip. Anti-Islamic Not anti-ISIS or anti-al Queda, rather anti-Islamic. Ms. Geller is well known for her non-dispassionate views. She and others would like all the hundreds of millions of followers of Islam to be seen by Americans as our enemies.

Given the problems Europe is having with their great migration of Muslims and in particular Belgium where they are a majority and demanding Sharia Law. and given the destruction occurring in the Middle East and then given the problems states such as Minnesota are having with Muslims we need a national dialogue on this issue, a dialogue not a witch hunt.

One poster referenced Europeans immigrants coming to America using ethnic slurs which are totally unacceptable and so clearly we have to define what the term Muslim means in connection with our immigration policies. So I agree with the bus campaign and believe it ought to be extended to the start of a national campaign to contain the radical Muslim who would come here under the cover of the First Amendment. In every corner of our nation political correctness has harnessed our ability to have a realistic conversation, perhaps paralysis us is not such a strong term.

Citing, being civil, is one manner in which one may utilize to restrict free speech. Claims of race bigotry, etc can be used to one's advantage as a way to stifle dialogue.

From a broad point of view we have allowed far too many people into this country legally or illegally who do not share America's values We bragged of the great melting pot but it seems it has now diminished to a great smoldering pot and we need to correct it.

My daughter lives in the NYC area and once told me that when the Twin Towers came down there was dancing in the streets in the Muslim communities not far from this tragedy.

As an example when I lived in Minneapolis there were a number of families from the Middle East. My neighbors across the street were Egyptians their family were all well educated doctors etc. They shared the American dream and understood the necessity to embrace their new culture In that same city we were confronted by radical Somali who intentionally provoked local authorities. Those activist made it clear they hated America.

So the bus campaign gets my vote and I hope it begins a national conversation before we end up like Europe....

What exactly are you defending? When we were at war with the German State, Germans living here fell under suspicion. When we were at war with Japan, the same thing happened.

My German born grandfather had two American born sons who fought Hitler in Germany. He hated Hitler and was vocal about it. My uncle was witness to the atrocities against Jews and he never went to church again.

That is all I know. Shadows will be cast. That is how life is.

I has come to the fact that ISIS claiming to be Muslim is causing all Muslims to be generalized into being terrorists. Sorry but wouldn't trust any of them. Just my opinion. They are trying to destroy what all of us has worked hard for. That to is a fact. Ask any one from Detroit see what they say.

Default I live by the WORD of GOD as most Christians...

Do the muslims live what is in their book? Has anyone heard one say that they do not believe their book? All one has to do is google quran infidels to see why it bothers me. This is not hate speech as it is the truth.

You may want to check this statement regarding Belgium. 6% is pretty far from the majority.

It makes the public more aware. Even the governor of N.Y. is coming on board saying, "It has been 13 years and you can get lulled into a false sense of security." I'm quoting from today's Daily Sun column - "New York's never-ending battle against terror threats"

The heading of the thread: Anti-Islamic ads coming to NYC transit system was copied from the article heading in the newspaper. Either the reporter or the editor could have come up with that heading. I'm just saying don't go by that alone because we don't know for sure who wrote it.

Actually, NYC has gone back to sleep IMHO. Mayor D disbanded the Anti Muslim CT group. I imagine the next wakeup call will be a much larger explosion. Too bad we seem to always have to learn it the hard way.

Here's an article with a little background on Pamela Geller, who is responsible for the ads. Form your own opinion.
