Default Beautiful libraries you have been in over the years

One of the most beautiful libraries from within I have been in is the one in downtown Reno, NV which has an inside arboretum with a running brook, many trees, and other greenery. http://libwww.washoecounty.us/mod.ph...04&page_id=160

Really liked the downtown Sarasota FL library which has a large aquarium in it. http://suncat.co.sarasota.fl.us/Libraries/Aquarium.aspx

The one in Hudson, Florida, is really pretty. Has a great art display and is very inviting.

Schaumburg, Illinois which is west of Chicago has a fantastic library. The main floor is divided into different subject entrances (i.e. movies, non-fiction, etc.) with separate fronts that appear to be entrances into stores and a movie theater with lighting for the DVDs, etc. The top floor of this library is a research and business area which offers almost everything one could need. What a wonderful place.

The New York Public Library, in downtown Manhattan, might not be as as modern and beautiful as the ones mentioned above, but it has everything an historic monument should have. It has more paintings and sculptures than many museums, and it has the books too.

Has anyone seen the architectural elevations of the proposed new Lady Lake library?* I think it looks great.* Here is the link:* http://www.ladylakelibrary.com/EXTER...IONS.pdf* It was slow to download for me.

Anyone know the status of construction?* How many times larger than the existing facility?

When it is completed, the Lady Lake facility will become part of the multi-county library co-op (shared use agreement) whereby if you are in another jurisdiction, like Sumter County, there will be no fees to use the Lady Lake library.* Lady Lake couldn't enter into that agreement until it's capacity reached a level that could sustain the additional activity such an agreement would generate.

Did not know about the agreement which sounds great. Sumter County residents have to pay an annual household fee of $40 to use the Lake County Library System which is still well worth it.

Thanks for the tip, Gray Hog. Went to a few movies at a Schaumberg mall but never saw the library. Walked to the Itasca library quite a lot buy this was to the old Itasca library.

From an article that was taped to the Lady Lake Library's Circulation desk yesterday it looks like the new Lady Lake Library will be opening in 12 to 15 months.

I did not read it in detail as there was a line at the Circulation Desk while I was checking out my DVDs. ;D
