The 2 marshalls on the hole in question, have a diiferent version than Tiger.
Marshal: I didn't say anything to Tiger about Sergio Well, when they heard that remark from Woods, the marshals were surprised. One of them, Gary Anderson, said on Sunday, “He didn’t ask us nothing, and we didn’t say nothing. We’re told not to talk to the players.” Anderson’s boss, John North, was the chief marshal for the first three holes. He stood over Woods’s ball to protect it from the throng and was five feet away when Woods played his shot. North has worked the tournament as a volunteer marshal for 30 years, he’s a graduate of the Naval Academy, he served in Vietnam, he’s a FedEx pilot and he donates his round on the Stadium course for being a volunteer to the Wounded Warriors project. “Nothing was said to us and we certainly said nothing to him,” North said. “I was disappointed to hear him make those remarks. We’re there to help the players and enhance the experience of the fans. He was saying what was good for him. It lacked character.” Read more: Marshal: I didn't say anything to Tiger about Sergio |

It doesn't matter if he was told that Sergio had hit. Pulling a club from your bag while you are 50 yards away from your fellow competitor is in no way discourteous. Tiger had no idea that the fan would react to that action. And like I said before, in most cases, the guy that had a problem would have simply approached the other guy o the next tee and let him know what had happened. It was obvious that Tiger had no idea what had transpired. I go back to the question; Why didn't Sergio back off? He had plenty of time. This is just another case of Sergio looking to blame something or someone for his bad shot. It's never his fault. He's always the victim.

Did you see the side by side video which showed that the crowd noise happened several seconds before Sergio hit? I agree that Tiger's statement would have been better left out of the media, but he said it because Sergio is a well known complainer.

Tiger lied, who cares? Sergio complained, big deal.
I thought it was one on the best tournaments of the year. Sergio wanted to take Tiger down sooooo bad he took the ultimate gamble on the 71st hole, tied for the lead and came up a little short. That is awesome and makes for great Sunday afternoon entertainment. It's the rivalry between these two players that create the drama and that we all love to see go down Sunday afternoons. Bad decision? If it was another player besides Tiger I believe Sergio might have played it differently but he wanted to take down his rival, the #1 player in the world Tiger Woods and win it right here. Could you imagine the noise the gallery would have made if he stuck that shot to 4 feet? Tiger would have seen and heard it all. That makes his tee shot on18/72 being 1 shot down a whole lot more difficult. I thought it was gutsy play. I hope to see them in the final groups again soon... |

Tiger is unbeatable? Hahahaha, he's a good player but not that good.
Sergio is #15 on the planet. Don't kid yourself, he's a player. |

Yesterday Mike Wilbon on ESPN's PTI referred to Sergio as "a clown" several times. I think Mike's got it right. And Tiger has been dominating Sergio time after time with his superior golf game. Like him or not, Tiger is the best in the world by a long shot.

Don't hide behind a screen name and judge me. Post up your real name if you want to call somebody out.
I'm a huge Tiger fan, a Sergio fan and a golf fan in general. As a Golf Professional for over 20 years, I owe everything I have to the game of Golf. |

No one is calling you out, just disagreeing with your assessment of Garcia. He is a good player on the circuit, but he just does not compare to Tiger and he should learn to respect his betters in public. He Can say what he wants in a bar in Barcelona, but he should keep the mouth shut when on the tour.

I have no idea what it means to call somebody out other than an umpire in baseball. As for judging you I'm sure you are a fine person, just disagree with your assessment of sergio. As for hiding i would gladly put my name and phone number down but i would get a thousand calls from the anti-tiger community.
