i'm not convinced this has anything to do with race among college kids. i'm exposed to quite a few college students, they are dependable & very kind. AND you'd be surprised @ some of their views when they think no one is listening. it doesn't matter where you came from, it's how you grow that matters.

Are you referring to the near constant violence in "defund the police" cities like Portland and Seattle?

How did you miss all the violent rioting that happened in many of the large cities that occurred prior to 1/6????? It was on the news station nearly round the clock.

Like comparing a grape to a watermelon.

True... Many more people were killed and much more damage occurred during those earlier riots...

One of several reasons we moved up our move to The Villages from Washington by almost three years. When Seattle surrendered nine square city blocks, which included a police precinct, to the rioters and willfully let them occupy it for months, I decided we could no longer live with such lawlessness.

No! The January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol Building was the watermelon. It was not the grape.

You're required to own the gun legally to carry - and yet you're convinced that none of the +/- 70 guns recovered were legally owned. I guess that requirement doesn't amount to a hill of beans. If you're ALLOWED to wear your gun on your holster openly, then how is the law going to figure out which of you is not supposed to have the gun at all? Answer: you have to break some OTHER law in order to have the law even check. By that time it's too late. The law is basically telling ILLEGAL gun owners that they now have a better chance of walking around in broad daylight with their guns at their hips, than they ever did before. Because now, EVERYONE can do that. They're hiding in plain sight. |

I believe you got that backwards...

Let me explain how they confiscated 70+ guns... When the cops stop someone suspected of committing a crime, they are searched. If they find a gun, they can check to see if that gun is owned legally... If not, it is confiscated... Now, once again, OPEN CARRY is not the discussion, because it is no longer on the table in FL... Even if it was, the same rules apply. If you're stopped under suspicion of committing a crime, they can do a quick check. Add to that, criminal tend NOT to open carry. They don't want the added attention it brings...
