Re: OK, OK! Would you enter the state of Holy Matrimony again??????
Ed, I love your wife's statement. I doubt that I would ever marry again. My DH and I have been married "all our lives." We were 19 and 20 when we got married and have been married almost 49 years. We've had an exciting and rewarding life. I can't even imagine a relationship with anyone else, and, as a couple of people have said, the training is very hard.

Re: OK, OK! Would you enter the state of Holy Matrimony again??????
I generally never say 'never,' but I'm inclined to think that I would not marry again should anything happen to my other half. We're a second marriage, together 30 years, having raised the four sons (two each) that we brought into our marriage who all consider us "Mom & Dad," and we are so settled with each other (though I shouldn't speak for her...) that I cannot imagine being married to anyone else!

Re: OK, OK! Would you enter the state of Holy Matrimony again??????
I love my husband and we've had a great marriage. He's my best friend, and we share many interests together. That said, if I was suddenly alone and met someone I cared about I would enjoy marrying again. It certainly wouldn't be the same, we're at different times in our lives now, but I enjoy the companionship of a relationship.

Re: OK, OK! Would you enter the state of Holy Matrimony again??????
OK I'll be the first man to admit it:
If, God forbid, my wife leaves this earth first - I would absolutely look for another mate. I can't imagine not sharing my life with someone else. Friends are great but having the intimacy of another soul at your side is irreplaceable. I don't need the formal marriage tag but... My dad died over 20 years ago and my mom lived the 'single life' until last year. She met a man of the same age last summer and she is giddy as a school girl all over again at the age of 70. My sisters and I are so happy for her. Not sure if she'll make it formal but she's moved in with him and we wouldn't have it any other way. |

Re: OK, OK! Would you enter the state of Holy Matrimony again??????
What a great story, Russ. We have 2 sets of neighbors who married at a later age. They all met here in The villages. And I have a friend who recently met someone here and they've moved in together. Its been so much fun to see the change in her attitude, and to see her happiness. .
