Other considerations of why we prefer to park our vehicle in the garage as we have over the years whenever we had the option to do so.

Landscaping and other service people working in close proximity to car or walking past with deliveries...who knows flying debris from lawn edging tools, a UPS box being delivered, the fertilizer hose dragged around & spraying your vehicle, the junk falling from the trees and blowing about, the birds paying homage to the shiny roof & windshield; heck we even had a nest of mice living in the hood next to the engine when we lived up north. Do bees, snakes (& gators ) camp out in vehicles (inside open windows) or under hoods around here?

So we keep ours indoors for mainly these reasons...not neighborhood appearances.

Park on the driveway, drive on the parkway. Common knowledge.

GG, you are better than a Broadway show.
Anyway, I just realized that my neighbor parks his car in the driveway and I never noticed or thought it was a problem until now. What does annoy me is when service people park on my pristine driveway and leave oil stains.

My neighbor don't seem to mind and frequently compliment me on my car . I have a CYV with my golf cart and MG in the garage. My car is always on the outside.

Alright. It is because of me that we park in the drive. Sometimes....if I am not careful, I have scraped the side of our car.

Sweetie keeps it spiffy clean and shiny.

And those in golf carts then have the privilege of playing dodge 'em with traffic getting around your vehicle on top of the lawn guys, A/C guys and so on. Thank you so much!

I came from a "private," gated street where every homeowner parked on the street. Why? Because the garage, if there was any, was 1) too small for today's behemoths, and 2) was accessible only off the alley in back, which everyone knew was unsafe!

We knocked down our garage there at least 45 years ago!

My 14-year-old car loves being inside all the time here in TV! No more ice, snow, leaves and such.

But, I'm reasonably (un)comfortable with two neighbors. 1) Her SUV-style vehicle sits outside all the time because the garage protects her "vintage" Mercedes! 2) They're over-"vehicle-ized," with two cars, two golf carts as well as a Harley! And, half the time, they're away!

It's part of the charm of TV, frankly! :-)

Once again, don't attack me, JMHO!!! To each there own as long as it is within the deed restrictions.

Nothing like a $50K car in your driveway to make your house look trashy. Cars in driveways is trashy but restaurants filled with people wearing shorts and tropical shirts exudes class? There are a lot of things that would be considered trashy back home but perfectly acceptable here. I used to be surrounded by million dollar homes with cars in their driveways but then again those with money normally do not concern themselves with what other people think. IMHO of course.

Default I would guess...

there will always be cars in driveways in TV due to the whole storage issue and the smaller size of many of the garages. We rented a CYV and if we ever get to move there and buy one of those then I am sure our mini van would be parked in the driveway. I would be to afraid to drive it into the garage.
