This thread is just an example of how the debate would go on and on and on......if there were no deed restrictions.

I could park 4 cars and a golf cart on my drive way. Think that would be OK?

Exactly Skip. I for one, just stated, JMHP, that I think it makes a street/area look bad. I guess using the word "trashy" is too strong a word for most, but back in Alabama it can be used for a wide range of scenerios. And yes, probably my military career has a lot to do with my opinion on this, but I think we can all agree on this, that is why we love TV because of all the rules & restrictions. As I have stated before on this board, I have lived off-post several times and witnessed first hand a neighborhoods decline due to no rules, etc, and it is not pretty.
I am sorry if I offended anyone it was never intended to do so. If your rules etc say you can park in your drive, you can, do I personally think it looks bad, yes, once again JMHO in the context of the orginal discussion.

We moved in three months ago. There has been campers, cars, pickups etc in driveways alot do to getting garage painted, boxes unpacked etc. Did it make the neighborhood look bad? YES. Now that everyone is closer or completely moved in, I can see a big improvement without the cars in the driveway. We have one house down the street with three cars so they always have one in the drive. It does distract from the appearance, but it is allowed, so I will defend their right to leave it right there even though it would look a lot better not to see it sitting out there all the time.
