And how do you tell the difference?

People who get in the left hand lane and drive the speed limit or lower and have
a train of cars following them.

This creates dangerous situations as other drivers now pull into the right hand lane to go around them and then move back into the left hand lane where they belong.

If you are in the left hand lane and there is no on in front of you and someone behind you, MOVE OVER!. It's easy, it doesn't cost you anything and it doesn't hurt.

Loud obnoxious people holding loud conversations in public thinking they are the only people around. When they are in restaurants it's the absolute worst. No respect.

Isn't the speed limit the same for both lanes? The left lane is no longer a passing lane. Can you imagine the traffic jams if everyone was in the right lane except when passing?

It's against the law to hold up faster traffic...even if you are driving the speed limit.

That's correct. And it's not up to you to govern the speed of traffic by driving the speed limit in the left-hand lane and holding up traffic behind you. That's law enforcement's job. Keep right except to pass is the law when there's only two lanes going in your direction.

Amen to that!

Agree completely. You cannot prevent others from passing by even if you know they are exceeding the speed limit. Not your job as a driver.

Ouch. Guess that pushed a bunch of buttons Of a bunch of it's all about ME people. Do you think everyone who drives in the left lane is doing it to keep you from speeding or to raise your blood pressure. How long do you stay in the left lane? Do you pass Each car one by one, returning to the right lane after each car? I guarantee you None of you do.

VJ - it's not an all about me situation. They create a hazardous situation.....kind of like people who don't use rotaries correctly.

It's only dangerous because some people, other than those that observe the speed limit, apparently think thAt lane is for them to do as they please. Obey the laws and it isn't dangerous.

You're missing the point. THEY are violating the law.

We agree. The situation described above was that of a line of cars being held up by a driver who just stayed in the passing lane. That is illegal.
