“It happened on my last day in Hanoi…The translator told me that the soldiers wanted to sing me a song… The soldiers asked me to sing for them in return…I memorized a song called Day Ma Di, written by anti-war South Vietnamese students. I knew I was slaughtering it, but everyone seemed delighted that I was making the attempt. I finished. Everyone was laughing and clapping, including me… someone (I don’t remember who) led me towards the gun, and I sat down, still laughing, still applauding. It all had nothing to do with where I was sitting. I hardly even thought about where I was sitting. The cameras flashed…

It is possible that it was a set up, that the Vietnamese had it all planned. I will never know. But if they did I can’t blame them. The buck stops here. If I was used, I allowed it to happen. It was my mistake and I have paid and continue to pay a heavy price for it… I have apologized numerous times for any pain I may have caused servicemen and their families because of this photograph. It was never my intention to cause harm.”
I don't believe a word of that. Very self-serving, Jane.

Unhappy Viet Nam

My husband was in Viet Nam and lost 29 West Point classmates there. It was a terrible and totally unnecessary war. Whether Jane Fonda is a hero or not depending on each person's opinion, the picture of her standing with a big gun aimed at our air planes will never be forgotten. There were other ways for her to protest.

Also, we were told by Viet Nam vets in the know that when Jane visited the prison camp, each soldier handed her a tiny slip of paper with their social security number on it as she shook their hands but at the end, she turned the papers over to the guard. This story has been told so many times that I do believe it.

Did Jane Fonda Betray American POWs in North Vietnam? It is false! Used Snopes.

Jane was very young, made a mistake, and has apologized again and again. Geenpeace is an amazing organization, withdrawing support and writing a letter about Jane will show them. Jane is worth 200 million dollars, I'm sure you withdrawing your measly support will devastate them.

Is she? how many times does she have to apologize before you think she is repentant?

Thank you Jane for not choosing to dodge your service to the problem in Vietnam.
Actually it was arc light and rolling thunder that brought NV to peace table. You can thank Johnson for VN war.
