President Obama was meeting today with his national security team to look at all the options. Rest assured, whatever is decided, it will be a thoughful response, just what the public wants by an overwhelming margin.

"Remember, Germans overwhelmingly elected Hitler as their savior...they WERE all fooled by propaganda. We're being fooled too... It's devastating to have your world view shattered, but it needs shattering. Professional psychologists, ..."

Ya got THAT right.

While you post a strictly political opinion, that frankly I wish for but am not so optimistic based on past, but I am praying for him to do the right thing.

Not exactly sure the reason for your question. I have said a number of times on here, I have no idea...none...it is a tough position. Not sure what you want me to say or why you are trying to make this a political discussion.

I said, and will repeat for you, that I am praying for the man.what would you like me to do ?

I simply responded to JANMCN who made a political comment about it will be well thought out.....I hope so is all I am saying, but have concerns based on past...but this is not the political arena here and you guys can try to make it such but I am not taking the bait.

Why cannot you not accept that folks might be praying for the man to make a good decision. I thought all this crap was done with when the political forum was closed but some will just not abate.

In the Army I was taught to not "salute the person, salute the position". No matter who it is. This is a time for any prayers necessary for our elected leaders to "do the right thing". I don't know what that is but will support the decision as long as it is well thought out and based on sound reason.

Which I said and agree totally.

Not being sharp tongued with you RP....but some will make anything and everything into politics.....the two post that I got a bit upset at were exactly what I find repulsive. EVERYTHING must have a political tinge and that is how we get into trouble. I am trying hard not to take the bait from those who were infamous for that in that unamed forum. Lets get informed and talk about the topic, and forget the political gain or loss.

Of course we all pray he does the right thing. Somehow, someway, the slaughter of innocent folks has to stop.

Would it not be wonderful if we did read about the topic, and were able to criticize our chosen political folks and praise when deserved. Some folks make race, crime, and anything political.

Everyone say a prayer for the President and his advisors before retiring tonight....it is a very tough call.

Thanks for the update.

One time, in the unnamed forum, a poster made fun of a candidate who mentioned Russia as someone we need to keep an eye on..said sarcastically something about living in the fifties..which shows knowledge of the world is scattered, BUT....

Here we are

"Russia has been a key ally of the Syria’s President Bashar Assad, and its stance underlines the extent of international concern."

Russia urges Syria to cooperate with chemical weapons probe - World News

Russia's response, relative to this getting out of control is critical. Thus far, their call for Syria to cooperate with inspectors is a good thing.

My point was that I'm in total agreement with you..There is far too much emphasis on politics vs what is right or wrong..And yes, there are a few left on here that ALWAYS make a negative political statement.

Improving news, though probably just a delay in the inevitable confrontation !

"Earlier the U.N. said its inspection team was preparing to start its fact-finding mission on Monday after Syria said it would allow U.N. inspectors currently in Damascus immediate access to areas around the capital where the opposition accused the regime of using chemical weapons against fighters and civilians five days ago."
