No offense, but you don't know what you are talking about. We build carriers so that we don't have to have military bases occupying property in other countries near the enemy in order to fight them. There is more to it than just that but even if I had the patience to explain it in detail, you would just cut and run anyway.

Of course, we need a balanced budget. And of course we need to allow the military to fight wars, not inexperienced politicians, most of whom have never marched in formation before. In the past, we paid for wars with either a military tax(war tax) or war bonds.

With all due respect I believe it is you who has no idea about cost being deferred to our grandchildren. "Of course we need a balanced budget" Hillary and Bernie will say that. You are right about one thing we do need a war tax and means testing of SS and Medicare if we are to fund all this patriotic war you suggest we need. I would rather invest in defense and freedom than be in debt by means of freebies to everyone that says they can't live without the gov nanny. We have a very young and fertile ground that everyone else is envious of. With no defense, they will feel free to take it. If you don't believe that then you are very naive. You used the word invest, that is a word liberals have taken over. Invest now means let our grandchildren pay for it. If you look up the word invest in Webster's it doesn't say borrow from next generation. While you are at it look up the word deadbeat, it will say something like someone who doesn't pay his debts. Sounds like our generation does it not. I don't mean this as a personnel attack as we are all ignoring what we are doing while blaming it on the poor. IMO
