Do you know any construction companies that want to erect lecture halls and dorm buildings for free? Do you believe the 20 trillion dollar debt we will have when Obamma leaves office is small?

If Bernie had it his way; everyone could go to school for free, forever. Why would a person not pursue a doctrine in basket weaving instead of getting a job, if they get free education? The Greek houses will have to put additions on to accommodate the eternal students...Life long college party scene would be a dream come true for a lot of these lazy no good bums.

Then we got higher paying jobs and that meant the government collects more taxes. That's the motivation for educating the populace. It's win-win.

Our generation agreed to let the government invest less and less in education and we in turn had to help our children pay for college. Now mine are making 6 figures, paying a lot of taxes and treat me very well.

College professors are not that highly paid anymore.

That was then, this is now. Nobody makes the same forever and nothing costs the same forever. If you don't want to pay for it, don't buy it. If enough people don't buy it the price usually comes down. If more and more people are willing to buy, the price goes up.

You used to have to work about half a year at min wage to pay for a year of college. Now you have to work for 3 years.

Soul as well as political and all I know as a life long democrat I will never vote Dem again, not in my lifetime.
