OK...NOBODY in their right mind would have ALREADY bought the steel pipes for a pipeline that is under such contention. UNLESS...they know it's a done deal.

There's already a Keystone pipe...from Canada to the Gulf coast...to sell Canadian oil to Europe. The XL is they want to add another pipe, a bigger pipe, so they can sell MORE oil to the Europeans.

You seem to be fine with the math...you are probably dumb enough not to wonder how Michelle Obbama amassing 11.4 million over the last 8 years, and she has no salary.

Oh come on Billy...you KNOW it's true. The R, the "conservative" demographic watch Fox and the liberal, Ds, watch the CNNs of TV.

I KNOW these people. Depending on their leaning, either CNN or Fox on 24 hrs a day. Their minds being twisted by the propaganda.

At one time I watched CNN...then I realized the stories were propaganda that didn't match reality at all.

I started watching Fox when it started in 1996. It DID "seem" fair and balanced. They had people like Judge Napolitano, speaking the truth. Then they changed. The propaganda became obvious.

There are no "mainstream" reliable, always factual, "news" sources. It goes against profit. It goes against business. It goes against control. It goes against their stealing...their corruption...their greed.

[QUOTE=Guest]I went back and read my post. My generalization of saying Obamma bought and paid for the import steel could be misleading.. My post was not intended to be inaccurate, that was a mistake in my choice of wording. What I should have typed was Obamma signed off on the pipeline without specifying that US steel would be used, and thus; Obamma's lack of thought is responsible for the purchase of import steel that is stock piled along the pipeline's course.
[QUOTE]

And this is also "misleading" President Obama [not Obamma] never signed off on the pipeline. He refused to approve it until all the data including environment impact was available. And once all the data was available, he said no. The pipes that are already purchased were bought by the private companies who want to build the pipeline. Obama never told them to buy or not buy ahead of time.

Private business involved in the oil industry buys foreign steel pipes. Obama says no pipeline. Oil industry waits for change in administration. Trump says if I am president we will build the pipeline and it will be built with US steel. Trump wins and issues order approving the pipeline and insisting on US steel. A few days pass. Trump now says no need to buy new US steel pipes.

Or he could keep his promise and say, my approval of the pipeline will be revoked if you do not buy new US steel pipes as that is what I promised the voters. Oil industry spends a few million buying US steel from their profits. Cost to US taxpayers, nothing. So why did Trump not keep his word? Who got him to change his mind? Only one industry benefits from this broken promise... Big Oil.

You might want to review post #26 in this thread, OBAMMA signed off on the pipeline. Even directed his administration to cut through the red tape to get it done.

Yes let's financially punish the people constructing the pipeline because Obamma didn't think to specify that us steel would be used in the construction of the project, and they can pass it down to us in the cost of our fuel, good plan Einstein.

You must have a very different interpretation of the meaning in English of "signed off". It means gives final approval. It does not mean I think it is a good idea and will move it along subject to the required reviews. And in that same speech you only partly quoted President Obama said this :

"So what we’ve said to the company is, we’re happy to review future permits. And today, we’re making this new pipeline from Cushing to the Gulf a priority. So the southern leg of it we’re making a priority, and we’re going to go ahead and get that done. The northern portion of it we’re going to have to review properly to make sure that the health and safety of the American people are protected. That’s common sense."

And while that sounds like "signed off" to you, it does not to most people with ability to read and understand everyday English. And it is this Northern portion that is the topic of Trump's actions. The pipeline that Obama expedited was finished in 2015. So are you ready to withdraw your ill informed comment in #26 that you felt I needed to read? It is wrong.
