I envy you, I would have enjoyed meeting Mr Iacocca.
And, no, the government did not loan Chrysler the Auto Bailout monies. As I pointed out, the government only guaranteed the loan. Effectively, as taxpayers we were co-signers.

The bad part is, and this you will not agree with, that I said on here during the campaign that the President and many of his followers BELIEVE this image totally (see Farakhan calling him the messiah). There is a webpage devoted to adoration of him in a religious manner....he is saying one thing and doing another and nobody cares.

To me, anyway, this is scary....I suppose from the polls folks just want to have the Federal Government all over their life and to have their children totally indebted, and each day we lose more to the government.

As I said, it must be me...I have been on this "bandwagon" for a long long time and he is doing EVERYTHING I predicted. I guess I have to accept the fact I am in the minority....seems we want this kind of adoration and BLIND loyalty !

Default Bucco, the we who want what you refer to is limited only

to those who either voted for him or are the blind followers.

A lawyer and a politician as well as his other background issues any or all in the same sentence with anything religious or messianic is a multiple oxymoron!!!

The really bad part is he likes the slant. Harry Ried quotes Obama as telling him " I have a gift"........sorry..

Dem/Republican/black/white/brown/yellow/et al it is wrong to emulate a religious bearing....I know freedom of speech/religion/et al....the operative aspect is right or wrong. Obama with a religious aura adds insult to what he already does.

The site that is mentioned is actually a clever and rather funny right-wing blog. If you check the quotes from 2008 & 2007, you'll see many entries by such "Obama worshippers" as RedState.org, National Review, Hannity, and the like. Somewhere along the way, the blogger realized that dressing the site up as a shrine to Obama would actually be more effective- and he's right, "All Right", alright?

Meanwhile, I'm working on a card catalog for the George W. Bush Presidential Library Scholar's Room. Let me know what you think:

As I have said many times on here I am no fan of Bush, HOWEVER, I am less of a fan of those who find it funny to blame everything on him which is totally ludicrious.

The fly over NYC would have been headlines and the fodder to blame Bush...it is not funny and it tells me what you do at night...watch MSNBC..they have such fun at his expense nightly...and I thought they were Obama supporters who wanted to move on !!!!

I cannot imagine my posting such things as have been said about this man....most of it personal and not much to do with policy..I cannot imagine saying such personal things about ANY PRESIDENT OF ANY PARTY ! It surely speaks to the character of the posters who do this.

I have not supportted President Obama, but with over 1000 posts all in the political forum you will not find one that talks about him PERSONALLY !!! You will find me talk about his idealogy and his background but nothing so personal as folks seem to find fun about an ex President !

I do not understand people who aim so low...as I said..speaks to character !

You ask what I may think...I think it is disgusting and obscene to attack ANYONE with such personal venom whether they be private or public !

Your attempt at humor if that is what is was is totally lost on me !

Default The Flyover

"The fly over NYC would have been headlines and the fodder to blame Bush...it is not funny and it tells me what you do at night...watch MSNBC..they have such fun at his expense nightly...and I thought they were Obama supporters who wanted to move on !!!!"

Actually the liberal media is FURIOUS over the flyover, and Obama's seeming unwillingness to can the guy who planned it. They're New Yorkers remember, as am I. I lost two acquaintances, one a fireman and would have lost two very close friends at Cantor-Fitzgerald had fate not interceded that morning in a baby's toothache!

MSNBC reported that Louis Caldera, a former Secretary of the Army who runs the White House Military Office, took the blame- but he also instructed the mission to be classified, instructed the FAA to be silent about it, and dismissed concerns about 9/11 memories.

Clearly, the planners- and Obama- do not think like NY'ers & the event and its aftermath are being chalked up to "oops!" That won't be good enough, and shows tremendous insensitivity. There will be a quick learning curve on this one.

Regarding Bush-teasing & taunting, sorry you feel that way. One man's umbrage is another man's satire. Public personalities will always be open to scrutiny. It could be generationally or tempermentally-based. I've found that feelings about Saturday Night Live are a good indicator of where the humor/satire meter is set.

Nice tongue-in-cheek list.

Maybe you should consider:

My name is Al Gore and Bill and I were the only people to invite Ken Lay to the White House. We discussed 'cap and trade'. Ken thought it was a great idea since it could make lots of money for Enron.

I'm Al Gore and I flunked out of Vanderbilt three times.

I'm Al Gore and I invented the internet.

Oh, trust me, there's more than enough titles for the Clinton/Gore Library.

I'd start it with:

"What Is, is"

"A Presidential Guide to Cigars"

and finish with something like

"I AM the Internet"

They need to be "pithy" as O'Reilly would say!

Default And in typical politician manner of speaking

redefining terms to suit their position/statements....for example the famous...with pointing finger at the audience..."I did not have sex with that woman"...
They all do it. That is how lawyers think/act/behave.
To quote the well worn expression regarding politicians ethics....if their lips are moving they are lying.
