As an ex-NewYorker I still recall when in N.Y. one of the most expensive areas in the US for electric power there was a movement to have government take over form con edison.
Kotch was the mayor at the time and he publicly said,If, you think it is expensive now you have no idea how expensive it will get if government takes it over.

Look at what our government has done with the money we were FORCED to trust them with. The money you paid in contrary to what you and I want to believe was spent to buy votes from the people before us.

As to has to be a crime. We've been told that China is oir largest creditor. Sadly, we are being fed ....... baloney and we will vote on MISINFORMATION. China is not our largest creditor nation Japan is. Even worse, together Japan and China hold just under 20% of our DOUBLED BY OBAMA national debt. Social Security holds 42% of the national debt.

CRIME of course it is.

This is not "The Apprentice"...

You must be kidding. If course Congress will be involved, to actually read a plan unlike the last time.

Stop a minute to THINK. Gerbils, Hitler's propaganda man said if you say something over and over again it becomes fact. The fact is that few of us can comprehend what TWENTY TRILLION DOLLARS IS. Personally the largest sale I ever wrote was 2.5 million so I could claim, I'd be lying a bit, that I can comprehend that number. When we go into numbers like a billion and a trillion I simply can't claim to get my head around it YET WE THROW THOSE NUMBERS AROUND-LIKE THEY MAKE SENSE

I keep asking-WHAT DID OBAMA BUY WITH THAT MONEY
Roads-nope, Parks-nope, Dams-nope, art projects-nope.
Gee mr Obama I know you sent your wife to monico to buy a dress, I know your golf with security etc an't cheap but WHAT DID YOU BUY WITH TAXPAYER MONEY????

Default The real problem with medicare and social security

The real problem is GOVERNMENT. When, we were working they had excess money coming in. Rather then holding and investing that money, typical of government they used it to buy votes. Now we come along-surprise, government had all the numbers. Each day we would get older and eventually we would retire and expect what we paid for. We expect what the people before us got.

If, I recall, when social security was started there were 16 workers for every person collecting. Due to births after WWII and the fact that our people, at least our people WHO WORK AND PAY TAXES, has not grown at the same rate as people collecting. Today there are only 2.5 people working to pay the social security benefits we expect to collect.

I've posted the same thing several times. We are being fed misinformation and so we will vote on misinformation.
It sounds crazy-confirm it for yourself.
We have been told that China is our largest creditor. Fact is we owe slightly more to Japan then to China. FAR MORE IMPORTANT. Together Japan and China hold less than 20% of our national debt-SOCIAL SECURITY HOLDS 42% OF OUR NATIONAL DEBT. OBAMA OVERSPENT TEN TRILLION DOLLARS. Stop to THINK do you understand what a TRILLION DOLLARS IS-I DON'T. You had no choice
OBAMA SPENT you money that you put into this ponzi scheme for 40+ years.

For the poster above. Long term stock market returns are 8%. I've paid into social security for 45 years. Rule of 72
at 8% the money I put in would double every 9 years.
I was self employed and so paid in 13% of my gross a few times, i reached the top where you then get money not taxed by social security. For me and I would expect for most people living in the villages PRIVATE INSURANCE WOULD HAVE BEEN A MUCH BETTER AND LESS COSTLY ALTERNATIVE.

Excellent questions, and it tells me if you want to accomplish meaningful things
with your funds don't get the federal government involved.
Our federal government has a terrible track record
of doing things efficiently and economically!

That is over a 15 year period.
Cancer surgery and all post surgery radiation treatments.
Major intestinal surgery.
Cataracts.
Knee repair.

All the lab work including periodic blood testing, MRI, cat scans, etc.

Physical therapy.

Just to name afew.

Having to not pay one dollar for medical events in an aging life is far from crap.
Having complete coverage, 100% of ANY medical need.
And being a user of traditional Medicare with a supplement we are not restricted to any doctor, group of doctors or specialists or hospitals anywhere in the world.

To each his own, however, there has to be some underlying reason to label Medicare coverage as "crap" and that it is insufficient.
B.S.! You are going to sit there and tell me that you pay nothing for health insurance and get all that. B.S.! Maybe you do not realize that all those premiums are being deducted out of your Social Security, but Medicare A will not pay what you say it paid in itself.

You have to be carrying a supplement besides Medicare,
and either you or someone is paying for it!
Who is paying for your supplement?
Who is paying for your part B medical?

I have Medicare and a supplement, but I pay a monthly premium for part B out of my monthly social security, and I also pay a premium for my supplement! So it is hard to believe that you pay no premiums at all.

Yes, I pay monthly social security for Medicare plus I have a supplement with no premium. Tufts Medicare Preferred Plan.

Then you do pay premiums in addition to your co-pays.
Can you go to any specialist you want?

self employed pay both halves---2.9% with no ceiling on income. So anyone who earned around 300K/year paid $8700/year, x 35 years is just over 300K. My brother was a partner in the largest business of its kind, and in his last year earned about 4 million, = 116K in Medicare tax alone. So much for " a pittance"

Tufts Medicare preferred is an advantage plan/HMO, not a supplement--which is why you pay no premium. Google it.

Whatever, I still get great coverage for zero premium. I don't miss the small social security deduction.
