The article in Pravda was interesting reading, if a bit dramatic (the Russian style of literature?). But was just that, an opinion piece.

and AGAINST we the people. It is and has been due to the silent majority in this country. It has been reported more than I can recount how most Americans (usually over 85%) are against what has been happening to our freedoms, values, core beliefs and direction for the last 40 year (maybe more).

However, as statistically proven time and again there is no action taken by that majority...they are either too busy...don't care...or most often of the ilk, it doesn't affect me so why bother. Well over time it is finally aggregating to where it may be affecting some. But it still will not be sufficient to change we the people from apathy to action.

As the older generation (most of us) fade, being replaced by younger generations which will have never ever known any better, the do nothing apathy, entitlement group will begin to procreate and subsequent generations can only care even less.

The window of opportunity is fast closing on opportunities to reverse the trend.

The non representative, representatives, do nothing, liars, cheaters, lechers, whore mongers, tax evasion experts, what's in it for me politicians that repeatedly do the wrong the thing and sometimes very illegal and immoral....some how manage to keep getting re-elected...term after term after term after term. Because the apathetic lazy critical mass contained in we the people allow it.

Plain and simple. It has also been proven time and again that when there is a ground swell reaction to an issue by the majority...there is usually a reaction by the politicians. But it does not have consistent forward momentum.

How about another good/bad example. The confirming process of Soltomayor for the Suprteme Court. It is not amusing that recent candor from politicians regarding their approach to responding is a function of saying or not what ever it takes to not affect their ability to get re-elected. Doing the right thing for America? Certainly not. It is reported every day and I venture a guess that most Americans do not even question why their representatives are not doing what is right for we the people. The politicians are well tuned to the fact that we the people do not react or care very much about what they do or don't do, hence they do what works for them.....NOT WE THE PEOPLE!!!!!

I personally liked the slip of characterization in the article with the slip of the lip or pen when refering to the "sheeple".....one of my favorite terms!!!

The silent majority is getting what it deservws. The future generations will pay the price....not us.

Good post BTK...My guess is that the polititians are just pragmatic. Re- election is their only goal.
Correct me if I'm wrong (happens alot) but in the days when we were colonies of England, didn't most of the citizens just go along to get along? Didn't alot of those "citizens" have a "vested interest" to keep colonies under the King's control?
If history serves me right, wasn't it a small group of rabble-rousers that got the ball rolling to start the momentum of dissent?

tell Congress we want to eliminate the income tax and create "One Fair Tax" for all Americans. The democrats should like it because it would still be a progressive tax because the rich spend more.

stop expanding and creating more entitlements,

encourage democrats to stop appointing progressive revisionist judges to the courts,

get the Obama administration and the democrats in Congress to cut business taxes to encourage growth,

get the democrats and Obama to ditch the cap and trade tax that only goes to grow even more Marxist repressive government at the expense of the taxpayer. We both know the increase will be passed on in spite of Obama and the Democrats in Congress's best efforts to make it appear as a non-income tax. That is flat out deceitful.

tell Congress to stop blocking oil drilling in America where we know rich oil deposits exist

get Congress to restore the mega military budget cuts they made in an attempt to balance their budget. Chatting with our enemies doesn't seem to be working especially in North Korea and I'd like to know our men and women in the armed forces have enough manpower and firepower to end the threat quickly... with finality and their safety in mind.

get the libs and the dems to stop doling out entitlements to illegal immigrants through medical benefits, education benefits, social security benefits and tell them let's take care of U.S. citizens first

get rid of Barney Frank....we already got rid of Arlen Spector

give Joe Biden 24 hour security and medical attendants....God forbid...remember who is third in the line of succession

I'll work on the conservatives and republicans to support all of the above and further I will ask them to get back to family values and the values you cite.....hmmmm.......(pause for reflection) ...I think YOU are going to need more help. Any volunteers?

k, I'm not mocking your post. I believe it is a democratic administration, aided and abetted by a Democratic Congress with their Socialist, Marxist agenda that is driving us into oblivion.

How are lower taxes, less government, increased national security, controlled immigration, capitalism and belief in family and God driving us into the "trouble" you vaguely define in your post?

If the Marxist are right, capitalism leads to socialism, socialism leads to communism and communism leads to totalitarianism. How do you turn the boat around without attacking the source of the problem?

I know you don't like the interjection of party labels but....it is not conservative republicans who want to destoy capitalism.
