President Obama & the Nobel Peace Prize
As one of President Obama's biggest fans, I must admit I am stupified that he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. I see it as one of several possibilities:
No one was really qualified out of 6 billion people this year, so they gave it to him; This was more a refutiation of the warmongering rhetoric of the previous administration that so angered the rest of the civilized world, than a prize for any peacmaking that Obama has done (which is really nothing so far); Obama IS the anti-christ of Revelation after all! All you Rapture people ought to keep those convertible tops open, and for God's sake, don't pilot an airplane or drive a schoolbus- You'll create a huge mess when no one;s there to steer the plane! |

Pro-American
It's interesting to see what some believe is a shift toward a more pro-American Europe. Germany's Angela Merkel is a good example. In France, Sarkozy is arguably the most pro-American leader in decades. Britain has always been, at least since that tea party thing and the revolution, pro-American. Others who know more than I do about these things, say there is a definite trend toward a more pro-America Europe. Perhaps now with a Nobel in his resume, even our President will stop trashing our country abroad and become more pro-American.

Cobo you nailed it.
Obama got the prize from the Liberal Nobel group because they love him for bashing better than anyone else.
He bashed Bush And America nearly every time he opened his mouth. |

Nobel Cites Reasons- For the future
Quote:
That list includes: the Dahli Lama, Ghandi, MLK, Carter, Gorbachev and many who have sacrificed their lives, their freedom, their reputations or their positions. President Obama MAY do this in the future, and I pray he does, but the award seems very premature. |

Unbelievable
that the Peace prize would go to someone who has SOOOOOOOOOOO little to show towards making peace in the world!!!!!
Less than one year into office, having demonstrated nothing but his willingness to apologize for America and receiving the Peace Prize is beyond words. I guess that it just shows how politicized the the Nobel Prize has become. |

Maybe now Obama can get on with fighting the Wars.
Unless of course he really was getting war advice and not just stalling till after winning the prize to fight his wars. |

This may be the organization that recognized Gandhi, MLK, & Mother Teresa, but it is also the one which awarded the prize to Al Gore and Jimmy Carter. But before Americans become overly critical of the Nobel Peace Prize selection process for picking a guy with absolutely no qualifying criteria, remember that we elected him president with the same credentials.
The Noble Prize for Lit has always been suspicious at best and now Peace has removed absolutely any doubt as to its objectivity, we can only hope that in an ever more politicized world, the science awards retain some integrity. ` |

Obama won because of his achievements.
He has almost successfully destroyed the American Dream. |

Obama and the award were the topic of conversation at the pool today. Not one person was impressed. Yes he talks the talk but has not done anthing to warrant the award. Several of the people support Obama and they were at a loss for words.
