My angst is reserved for those who do label people followed by an attack. I am anti Trump, give reasons why and do not hide, BUT I do not in any way have a problem with someone who voted for him, other than an inability to defend him on issues and revert back to the election. To each his own but he is President now...no more campaigning....what he says on twitter or otherwise is said on behalf of all of us, thus my critique.
Gotcha.....thanks. Not that my criticisms were aimed at you personally to begin with as I know you have called out others for generalizing as well. Like you, I just feel that kind of conversation is not helpful for dialogue, and although I'm not perfect, I really try not to do that. I find that it hinders getting to know the person with whom you're conversing and ultimately getting to the truth of the matter.

Does that make Obama's brother a racist also, since he says Obama was born in Africa?

Not that I care where Obama was born, but calling someone a racist is a serious charge. Same with labeling someone a bigot.

I find it ludicrous and ignorant of you to call me a "racist" for supporting Trump. That is like me calling you a criminal because you voted for Crooked Hillary, the felon.

Not sure why you say that?? I did make a note to both CNM and Rocky, but for 2 very different reasons. To CNM because he does generalize and calls everyone a racist, but to Rocky to show that it does happen on here, not that he does that himself. Had I not been able to see who you are, I would have thought you were CNM since that's how he usually responds.

Either I'm confused or you are because I think we're on the same side of the fence with the racial name calling which was what I was referencing??

This poster just made my point! This is the kind of thing that I was saying is wrong. No, every person who voted for Trump or supports him now because he is the President, is NOT a racist.

A similar accusation is often used here for anyone who has any kind of agreement with Don B. I am not a racist because I occasionally agree with Don B or can find no arguments with his statistical data. What ever happened to individuality and the ability to evaluate another person's words/ideas without being labeled for doing so? Just because I don't like someone's stance on something or their ideology in general, doesn't mean I can't find something I might agree with them about.

I'll stop my rant there, but this is why I believe many people will not come on this forum. Too much nitpicking and name calling........it gets childish and becomes a waste of time because voices are shut down by this nonsense and not allowed to be heard. And that goes both ways!
You were doing OK, until you made the mistake of stating the underlined portion above.

Has it ever occurred to you, that the real common denominator with the "statistics" that Racist Boy likes to use...is poverty?

Further, has it ever crossed your mind that the reason so many blacks (and other minorities) live in poverty...is because of those with Racist Boy's viewpoint?

If you have thought of it, why are you so loathe to say so?

If you haven't, then I'm sorry but you can't help but be lumped in with racists and bigots...that's just the way it works.

Let me make it simple for you.

It's analogous to a group making a concerted effort of going around pushing/tripping elderly people and then after enough of them have been left splayed on the ground, declaring... "Old people can't walk."

Or maybe closer to home, is the recent statement by MDLNB that (if you believe he ever had the power to hire or fire, which most intelligent people know better) he wouldn't hire women...because they might take time off to have children.

Ya think maybe that kind of belief is the reason women have been underpaid compared to men doing the same job...and is the definition of misogyny?

By the way, MDLNB shares your political beliefs.

That's an absolute lie.

I have never called anyone a racist or bigot, that didn't either say racist and bigoted things...or agree with those that did.

Thanks for proving my point in my previous post.

You ARE on the "same side," and therefore must agree (albeit maybe inadvertently) that women shouldn't be hired or paid the same as men...because they might have children.

Especially if you...."can't argue with his statistics."

See how that works?

So, CNM since you agree with the fools on here, that makes YOU A FOOL by association, according to your criteria.......

Again, you make too many generalizations. It's not ALL about poverty. Many people in these situations (and that goes for blacks AND whites) make it a lifestyle. I know because of where I live and where I currently work. I see it all the time.......again, not just one race. I may have mentioned an example on here before where my husband procured one of these as you call them, impoverished, a job. It paid $15/hr with full benefits. The person turned it down - his reason being he did better on welfare. There was no physical or mental reason that this person could not work. It was a choice! No one was holding him back but himself.

About women's pay, again, another generalization on your part. There are many reasons why women may not be getting paid as much. For example, my husband and I work in the same profession. He always got paid more than I did but for good reason - one, he was in a management position and I was not, and two, he worked a lot more overall hours than I did. Any place that I have worked there was a pay range based on experience, never saw one based on gender. Hourly wages were the same for both. Overall my pay would not end up being the same as my male counterparts because I took time off for maternity leave and childcare.

My point is you can't just make generalizations about these sorts of things, anymore than one can make generalizations about certain groups of people. There are too many varying factors involved.

Btw, what was this thread about again?

I'm sorry, but I just have to laugh.

You start out by totally mis-characterizing what I said about poverty (where did I say ALL anything? ) and totally ignored what I said about women's pay and made up your own excuses..

...then have the audacity to try and lecture about generalizations?
