Sorry, there is no "brief" explanation of climate change, or even meteorology - which is why The Weather Club offers 25 different presentations (with more in the works), all examining the many know and unknown factors which control our environment. For example, Al Gore thought he too had a "brief explanation" of just a small part of the puzzle.

The source of those temperature proxies have not yet updated the data, although we have plenty of evidence and other proxy data to show that the prior warm period, the Medieval Warm Period, was warmer than today, when CO2 was lower than today.

Actually the far right of this graph shows RISING CO2 and RISING earth HEAT. That's because of MAN-MADE, man cause CO2 increases from IC engines. Basically, the more people there are on Earth the more the HEAT will rise. Next summer will be EVEN HOTTER.

Thank you for confirming we are still thawing out from the Little Ice Age. The Bray and Eddy solar cycles are still in their warming phases -- which is expected to end in about 100 years. Enjoy the ride -- because the alternative is chilling.

Claims are fun, but data is better. So, let's try data versus narrative. How much did "man-made" CO2 warm the earth last year? Since our climate leaders always tell us to follow the science, please provide the "science" you use to arrive at your answer.

Picking any specific time period comes with different answers depending on which forcing functions you are looking at, because we are currently under the influence of several competing warming and cooling cycles. However, using satellite data, it is clear that the Tonga volcano is causing the 2023-2024 heat wave, because all other explanations fail the data test.

The Earth's HEAT has been increasing for 15 years with BIG increases in the last 5 years. Since the Tonga eruption happened in 2022, it was a factor in the Earth's heat after 2022, but can't be called the PRIMARY warming factor. The Earth was warming before 2022 due to internal combustion engine exhaust. And will continue for many years in the future, since there are so many deniers.
