Improving battery life? Yes, I believe you will find that it is NOT gov sponsored "scientists" that are attempting to improve the life of batteries, but private corporations that are doing so. Power grid hardening? Power stations and sub-stations have always been a target in wars and terrorism, so what's the point you are attempting to make?
Wasn't the original reason for chicken little's "the sky is falling" warning was that we would run OUT of fossil fuels during our lifetime? By the way, the first electric powered auto was somewhere around 1830ish and was not created with the purpose of saving the planet from pollution or global warming.

And "Global Warming"? Really? You, of all people should know they dropped that mantra years ago in favor of "Climate Change"...

And I'm pretty sure that it's not scientists who are working on "Hardening sub-stations"... That sounds like a job for security experts, or even the military... Not guys in white lab coats...
We all know that the military (of any country) has the money and the NEED to support scientists and technicians in the development of NEW technologies. You can't HARDEN a substation by putting a physical person there to guard it. (too many substations) (too easy a target). The hardening problem is going to require at least old technology like cameras on the ground or cameras in the air on drones and people monitoring multiple substations. ............OR the US is going to need to develop NEW technologies to harden substations and other vulnerable targets within the US borders, like key bridges. The US has enemies abroad AND within and has often been able to RELY on having the BEST weapons to fight because of US innovations and patents produced by .........wait for it.......... laboratory SCIENTISTS.

Space is also a potential laboratory and possible battlefield where the US needs to dominate the scientific field. Incidentally, this brings up the need for home-grown scientists that are produced by world-class high schools and colleges. Currently, the US public and private high schools are rated poorly compared to the rest of the world. For Americans to properly understand and support (with tax dollars) EVERYTHING from Global Warming (there I said it again) to modern military science we need better secondary education and for the "best and the brightest" college students to enter the science and engineering fields INSTEAD of being drawn by the big money toward the business and science fields. This will take a realignment of social goals similar to the 1960s goal of being the 1st to get to the MOON.

That's a great picture of MY car. I ride it around the golf courses and everyone thinks that it is a custom golf cart. It is SO very quiet and NEVER needs to visit a gas station and it doesn't smell at all like most gas golf carts. It gives off ZERO pollution so I am NOT adding to Global Warming and therefore saving the planet. And people buy me free drinks because I am so KIND to the environment. It's a win-win. I feel like an environmental Santa Claus for giving a present to Mother Earth.

Mother Earth needs her pick-me-up present because her upper atmosphere is polluted with EXCESS CO2 from those villainous fossil fuel-burning golf carts. Her oceans are polluted with coral reef-killing bleaching acid caused by EXCESS CO2. Her pet furry animals are going extinct and the average US citizen could give a flying ..........raindeer. And her lakes and rivers are drying up. Poor old girl - mother earth.

Sorry, you have it backwards:

Our modern SUVs are what the climate change believers THINK Fred Flintstone drove

The picture you posted is what they WANT the rest of us to drive.

Well, since China has had a worker shortage for decades before Covid, you would be wrong...

And to call a vaccine that:

1: Doesn't stop you from getting Covid (as it was promised to do), and...
2: Doesn't stop transmission of Covid (as it was promised to do)... and
3: That MAY make your infection less severe, and
4: May be linked to Myocarditis in young men, Blood Clots in women "EFFECTIVE", takes a Cirque de Soleil caliber contortionist...

But, you're free to believe whatever you want, and repeat yourself over and over and over again...

Good overview of climate science...

Atmospheric CO2 is not the cause of climate change...It is the outcome.

That's my wife's car. Notice the missing front windshield. That is so she can yell at all the bad drivers that pass her and cut her off. And stop and talk to the neighbors.

My wife won't drive, but she still yells at the bad drivers.

Thanka, but I am not the only one that repeats things often here. Also, China may have done many things before Covid like participating in the Korean War. But their population and middle class started to increase only AFTER they opened up trade with the US (and stole our technology). I never really thought that the US got real benefits from the trade with China. Recently, our dependency on China as a parts supplier to automobiles has played out. And in the future with Robotics and A.I. ,we need them a lot less.

As far as the Chinese worker shortage goes......that's their problem. I just stated that their totally messed up response to Covid has hurt our supply lines and shown the downsides of outsourcing in general. From China's point of view, they badly handled their Covid problem and they locked down whole cities. Some people locked in small apartments may have gotten so "stir crazy" that they committed suicide by pills or jumping off roofs. China is not going to release statistics about THOSE deaths. Then, there would be X - unknown deaths from Covid itself. And MORE deaths from the clash between Police and rioters.

So, the net result is FEWER available Chinese factory workers because of Covid (I can't say AFTER Covid because after Covid does not exist anywhere) - (a 40% increase in the US currently). That IS my point. Covid has caused the deaths of many Chinese workers. I don't see how that statement can be argued against.

ONE MILLION US citizens died from Covid, basically, before the VERY EFFECTIVE shots were available. Some that refused the shots have died. And SOME died that need NOT have died because they were infected by asymptomatic individuals that basically killed others by refusing to take the well-tested and VERY EFFECTIVE CV shots. There has NEVER been a perfect vaccine and really NOTHING in life is PERFECT, even me. The Covid shots are very close to perfect and if they had taken longer to develop, we may have had 2 million Americans DIE from Covid. So, that is something to be grateful for.

Maybe. One million died during or after having tested positive for COVID, how many died BECAUSE of Covid is debatable. And then there were the reports of those that were DOA after an accident and tested positive post-mortem. All I can say is the true number is probably less than a million and more than zero.

I don't believe that COVID is related to warming or cooling.
