YouTubeTV is the best. Over 70 HD channels. Unlimited DVR which means you can watch shows anytime and skip commercials. Has all local channels. Best 4K picture of any streaming service. You can buy your own router and you don't have to pay for HD, DVR or rental of settop boxes & router. All for $65/month. Basic internet costs $50/month with Comcast or CenturyLink. If you have multiple TVs you save a bundle. My Comcast bill was over $250 with 3 TVs. If you are a snowbird, you can save even more, just use the same subscription at your other residence. You just need basic internet.

Call them...tell them you are upset about their cost.
We have Comcast. Whenever rates go up, we call them and ask what packages or deals are running right now. We tell them any issues we have, and they fix them. Last month we called, and told them our Internet was too slow in some areas of the house. They gave us a big booster to fix that, gave us a new box for four tvs in our house that don’t have the big box for premium channels....now all six tvs have our full package, they gave us HBO Max that has the new movies on it, and still took $60 OFF of our bill. I’d never change from Comcast. |

I had DISH satellite for many years up north. It never went out, even with thunderstorms and heavy snow. Comcast did occasionally go out.

We have had Dish Network for many years and for the number of channels you get, it's a very good price and despite the rain in Florida, the outages are VERY minimal because of the rain despite what some people may say. Comcast is the worst!!

We just dumped them for Dish and are tickled to death. No customer loyalty whatsoever.

It is your choice what to use; but, do not use Dish. DirectTV is okay, but Dish has a reputation of bad business practices. Our friend was lied to by sales and installation followed by manipulation from contracts. Hers is not the only such story. Avoid Dish.

We dropped YouTubeTv also with last rate hike that put to to $70+ a month. So now just have Netflix, Amazon and Local.org for pay services and use mainly Pluto for other viewing choices. Oh, and iWebTV for just about any movie we can’t find otherwise (new or old) and old tv series.

I started with Centurylink, then switched to DirecTV for lower prices, then to DISH when DirecTV prices went up badly. Both DirecTV and DISH have issues that service goes out whenever heavy rain is in the area or it's actually occurring. I have just switched to Xfinity for TV for $30 month plus the modem/router rental of $14.99 - and an additional Flex streaming device with things like a Firestick gives. I've added my former landline from Centurylink to my longtime provider, Consumer Cellular, cell phone account for $15 more than my prior cell phone monthly bill. My prior bill from Centurylink of $85.22 is now down $20 a month with the two changes and I have more things to choose from and no pixilating service in the rain.

As someone else posted - 1000 channels with nothing on - no matter what you do its a waste of time and money.
My own personal favorite is the triple play where you are paying for a land line because its cheaper somehow. |

Go out to Market of Marion, and find a booth called All Access TV. I have had this for 2 years, and completely happy. It cost me $45.00 a month, and I can get any channel that I want. My neighbor asked me about it, because his wife was from Germany, and wanted to se e some German TV. Him and his wife are now completly happy. I 'am from Minnesota, and every evening at 6PM, I watch the news from Minneapolis. I get most every channel in the world, I mean the world. The only other countries I kept was Canada, England and Ireland. They have a box that they will sell you for $275.00, that is for one TV, if you want 2 TV's, you need 2 boxes, is what I and the other 5 people that I sent out got. You don't need any more than 2 because they are very easy to move. My wife likes to watch TV in bed at night, so she takes the one from the lani and moves it to the bedroom.Takes about 30 seconds. Also we spend 5 months up in Minnesota each summer, so we just pack both of them up and take to Mn. We just buy internet, and we are up and running. Very simple to use. This also includes all your premium channels like netflix, amazon, HBO, Cinemax, I could go on and on, if it is on TV, you will get it.

I don't know how anyone can read all these contradicting posts and come away with a solid basis for making a choice.
I will say this. Comcast has by far the best voice command technology for their remote. It is reliable, streamlined and you can reach almost all of the streaming services like Prime TV by just talking into your remote. No jumping around. My parents love it for that reason. It also has great deals on mobile phones. One drawback of the cable companies is that your streaming options away from the home are far more limited that the likes of Hulu and Youtube TV. I learned of Suppose | Compare Cable, Satellite & Streaming TV Services an earlier thread and it was awesome. Highly recommend it if price is a factor or you have to have an obscure channel that very few people watch. For cost reasons, channel choices and remote streaming I chose Spectrum internet and Hulu. For those who use dishes, has the technology improved such that weather related interruptions are much better? I wonder if those complaining about losing service have outdated equipment. |
