Default Southern lifestyles store

In February we ordered an entertainment console and mattress and box spring from Southern Lifestyles. At that time Serta was given a free comforter to anyone who purchased a mattress. Our mattress was delivered in May and we have still not received our comforter. We went to the store last night and were told that at the time of purchase the sales associates should have given us a card to mail to Serta, unfortunately she did not. We were told that we would not be getting our free comforter since we did not mail the card, WHICH WE WERE NEVER GIVEN. I am not so upset about not getting the comforter it is more about the attitude of the store. it was their mistake not mine. Has this happened to anyone else?

Not at this store, but the same kind of thing goes on all the time. When we were preparing the house for sale, we called the number for our 20 yr. warranty on the roof and they told us we did not have it because...you guessed it, we were supposed to have been given a card and were not. We went around that ferris wheel a few times with no positive resolution.

HOWEVER this is a different situation. We (members of TOTV) need to stop by at the store and tell them that we are very concerned about customer service, tell them exactly what you just posted and say something like, it would be a good thing if they stood behind what they say, and then leave. I would be willing to do that.....

Maybe nothing to do about the "missed opportunity" but plenty you can do to get the word out about the store. First, file a complaint (online) with the BBB of Central Florida. At the same time, again online, you can file a complaint with the Florida Dept of Agriculture, Division of Consumer Services. Both keep records and people check on past complaints so it is not a good thing for a business to have complaints on file at those two places. Third, visit the local Seniors Vs Crime Office (located at both the Sumter and Marion Sheriff's Departments in TV) and file a complaint with them - no charge and sometimes they can help resolve issues like this. They also keep records of complaints and people call to check on a business so again, a reputable business would not want to be on their list either.

Wow...it sure took Serta a long time. I wonder if they are in trouble? I would hope if you asked Southern Lifestyles for another card they would give it to you, or if you contacted Serta and explained they would send you your free comforter.

We have worked with Jenifer Thieman at Southern Lifestyles and everything went like clockwork. She helped us with furniture for our house in Hadley and now this new house too. She emailed us when our things came in and greeted us with a hug and is genuinely kind and smart, even if she is very YOUNG....lol. She is even coming out next week as part of the service to give me some decorating advice.

When we first moved here three years ago I didn't go there for a long time because I thought all of their stuff was really expensive. But someone on TOTV told us that is not the case. So we found a Broyhill set for our bedroom up in Cincinnati and called Jenifer with the price. (It was a good price) They were able to meet the price and even go a little below it and we bought it and had it delivered when we got down here.

I am really sorry this has happened to you. I hope you can find a solution.

I too have had only good experiences with Southern Lifestyles. Their guidance help me select the proper furniture prior to our closing. At closing everything was in place when we opened the door. Our salesperson, Jeff Tutin, has continued to help with ideas.

It is too bad for your experience, but someone either at the store or at the mattress manufacturers should be willing to straighten it out to your satisfaction. Good luck.

Sorry about your experience. I have had nothing but great service from Southern Lifestyles.
