You know something, I have learned and am continuing to learn that things are way different down yonder than it was back home. The way to make money on NOTHING other than Real Estate in the North was to BUY at the best price and then you could be flexible at the time of the sale. Down here the negotiating part of buying is virtually non-existent unless in two years I've totally lost my touch. People barely want to talk about reducing their prices even when they are over the top with their price.

The other day I had two killer realtors in my home and asked questions about similar properties to mine that I already knew the answer to. They either gave me NOTHING but Half answers, misleading answers or outright downright lies. Just about NOTHING more than what I expected. They lowballed the price so they could pop a quick sale. I am on the other hand factual with my own investigation of what similar properties have sold for. I am laughing like hell on the inside while they are misleading me and my wife.

All the stars must be NOTHING but in alignment before we bust a move. How many times have we read on TOTV'S about I don't want to say old people so I'll say people in our age bracket being taken advantage of in one way or another? I was talking about selling my house and moving into a CYV and when we went out to look we were in ranches. I think I was perfectly clear but don't want to go unless it is what we want. We are very happy where we are and only want a CYV. If it can't be then so be it.

I have a feeling that one way or the other it will work out when the time is perfecto.

CYV, great shape or messed up really goodly where we save a bundle and I can make it my last rehab. I'm even going to get permits, how do you like that and the only other request would be NO, NO, NO, trees that I need a permit to take down. Value is the biggest thing. A project would be fine. Oh, TWO can's are a must.

I have to say Mrs. Fw this may be the NOTHING post of the YEAR. The clock is ticking. We don't postpone happiness. Regrets I have a few but WAY to FEW to mention. I would take the doggie over any house any day. I Love your post and the message is NOTHING but on the $Money$.

And you want NOTHING but north of 466? Were these Villages realtors, I must say I am surprised.

This was brought up yesterday by the couple we ran into what a great movie this is. Being Italian, from what I hear, my husband should NOTHING but enjoy it. He's not one to generally go to a movie but this might be a good thought for a rainy day.
It definitely has a lot of Italian Tri-State culture in it. Look for some of the Vallelonga family members in the movie. And not for NOTHING.

Been hither and yon lately, traveling commercial in those flying Petri dishes.

If you happened to see a crazy lady on a plane, neurotically cleaning her entire seat, seat belt, screen, tray, arm rest, etc. with antibacterial wipes — well, that was me.

And now — a miserable cold. Might as well have done nothing. (sigh)

Looks like I have some catching up to do with this thread.

Nucky, I love looking for houses and I love dogs. I plan to stay tuned.

(If I may stick my nose in the house thinking — I would like to say you might want to think about a small designer or ranch that backs up to a CYV wall. That way, you can get privacy behind and a double garage. I realize it is not the amount of privacy a CYV offers though.

The Gardenia (block and stucco) and the Camelia (vinyl) let in a lot of light — which I love to have in a house. Both models have side windows in the living room and some of the Gardenias have that lovely arch over the large kitchen window where the table and chairs can be.

The lanai is not huge, when the model backs to a wall. It is long and narrow. But sometimes there are telescoping doors that can make the lanai a part of your living area when you have a bigger crowd in.

Backing to a wall gives you a small yard which we happen to like — a lot. Also, the way the neighboring houses are set on the inside lots often can allow a surprising amount of side privacy.

These models also have a small front porch.

I have not looked lately, but there are usually some of these in the LSL section, throughout. Not sure about the north though, but probably.

I loved that wall the minute I saw it when I walked in the front door.

Just a thought — or two. — or three. )

Exactly how I feel about flying, don't enjoy it but need to do it.

As for CYV, for some of us NOTHING else will do. I would not trade mine for any designer or even premier house in The Villages. I love the privacy and the safe space for my dog.

I completely understand what you mean. There is nothing that can match the privacy of a CYV. They also make beautiful use of the generous interior space.

In fact, I originally thought that was what we would get. Seasonal birds like them a lot. CYVs can get pretty expensive sometimes. The market demand seems like it is always there for CYVs.

Those years ago, I was not even thinking about the possibility of a home backing up to a wall when I happened to see one so I thought I would just throw the thought in here, in case it might help somebody.

Hello, there Mrs. Sniffles. I'm sorry you're not feeling NOTHING but up to snuff. Traveling by airplane is a no go for me. I don't even let anyone drive me anywhere. I don't let anyone wag a finger in my face. I better stop there.

Mrs. Boomerrookski you bring up some very good points. They are true and factual but the thing about me more than us is that I fly by the seat of my pant's as far as I will educate myself till I want to die and then strike like a Viper when the deal is good. I promise that the outcome here will be great. The only thing that can't be guaranteed is the neighbors. We have had Golden, no Platinum neighbors our whole life.

Just like the dog, when we see the correct one Forgetabouit!

I have a Doctor friend who is more of a Brother on TOTV'S who could fix you up in a minute and I have a Pharmacist Extrodinare palsey walsey who could advise better than I. I say Tylenol, Booze if possible and Sleep it out or just go to Dr. Vinny Boombatz! Feel Better.

Everybody in NOTHING is NOTHING but helpful. Your post shows you would fit in like the hand in most gloves. I wish I could be neighbors with all of Yous but I'm not that big, yet! Mrs. Boomer points well taken as is Mrs. FW's point.

I like the idea of our Monstrous size dog prowling the premises just after the moat.

The nothing regulars sure seem like they all would be wonderful neighbors.

(I like this thread because there is no drama. Nothing but kind and pleasant and fun interaction among "neighbors.")
