It is a doctor who is touting his own secret formula....as an alternative for Viagra/Levitra/Cialis. The part that makes me want to slap my forehead, is when he says (paraphrasing)...... "If you don't have a positive reaction while you're in my office, it is free." A positive reaction while in your office? ![]() Really dude? ![]() . |

As I mentioned, they do those commericals every night on the evening news; the other night they had a segment on the increase in suicides in our nation. HOWEVER........they never once mentioned the drugs or the pharmaceutical companies that are supporting them with big bucks for those commercials. |

[QUOTE=OnTrack;670923]My all time favorite (in a hilariously stupid way)....is one I've been hearing recently on the radio.

[QUOTE=lightworker888;670677]That was also part of our conversation. In fact we were commenting on how few movies in TV were violence free. Quartet was the best movie I've seen all year and we used to be able to go to a different movie each week here a few trips ago. Now they are either vacuous or violent. Seems the actors of our generation are dying off and generally the younger ones haven't been making movies of substance. I don't quite know how entertainment translates into violence and horror. How does one get any "feel good" from them? JMHO.
Oh I so agree. Hardly ever go to the movies anymore. They're too violent/crude/stupid/dark/choppy camera work/too close-up, and too star focused instead of character and story focused. Uh oh, I think I just showed that I'm intolerant, old-fashioned, and not fun. I'm fun, really I am. |

Whereas the new movies have the credits so tiny that no one can read them. Don't these actors also deserve to have their names seen ? Sometimes we watch a movie and although the actor looks familiar, one can't even tell who they are............I just go online and look up the movie and read the "cast and crew" online..... p.s. I know exactly where Lightworker is coming from. We say the same thing.........and we are big movie buffs. We have been told by the younger crowd that we are very young at heart....so I don't blame our perceptions on our age.........it's just a fact of life nowadays, with regard to the movies. They have to try harder and harder to shock and excite people..........or so they think. Everything is special effects now. |

Clinical Trials and Investigational Drugs We know people who were in clinical trials and probably given the placebo......or else the drug definitely did not work as the outcome was not good. |

Drugs.com | Prescription Drug Information, Interactions & Side Effects
click hyperlink above.....then keep scrolling down until you get to all the hyperlinks on left side of page. They show what the drug supposedly will do.........plus the possible side effects.......... Prescription Drug Information, Interactions and Side Effects.......interesting to read, although it may take time to go through the list. At our age of 68, we are still drug free....... p.s. Years ago when my husband had to take Prednisone and Plaquenil for his Discoid Lupus, there were numerous side effects.........however, he has not taken them in 25 years or so. |

Boniva Information from Drugs.com
click above hyperlink....... O.K. this is the one I mentioned the other day. It’s supposed to strengthen one’s bones if they have osteopenia or in danger of osteoporosis. Yet, if you read about the possible destruction of the jaw bone, etc., etc., etc. it is very scary....... Also, upper thighbone breaks have been reported while on various bone meds. A cousin has been on this and others for years and years now due to an original bone density check....which showed "pre osteopenia". When the news came out re the destruction of the jaw bone, teeth falling out, thighbone breakage, etc......she asked her doctor if she should go off of it. The doctor told her to stay on it. Now she worries all the time. Read it. ************************************************** ******************** It's not just Boniva..........please keep scrolling down on below hyperlink......... I would include sugar as a drug-like substance. It's bad for one's health and people become addicted to it. It's in lots of foods like dressings, candy, cakes, pies, cookies, pastries, bread, soft drinks, fruit drinks and many other items.
Just because it comes from a plant, does that make it a food? Lots of pharmaceuticals come from plants. If you think sugar isn't addictive, try eliminating it from your diet and see what happens. You won't know how much you need it until you don't have it. And moderation usually means a steady supply in one form or another. Sugar is just plain bad for your health and I think it's a drug. Now let's hear from all those who are addicted to it. ![]() |

However, I'm not sure I agree with your conclusion that we were better off without the Big Pharma ads. Had I not heard the ads, I might have taken my doctor's advice to try one of the, um, anti-peezalot pills. However, hearing the long list of side effects recited in the commercials convinced me otherwise. Which is worse methought, frequent potty breaks or osteoporosis. Thanks to those dumb Big Pharma ads, Princess Peezalot I was and Princess Peezalot I shall remain. Thanks Big Pharma. And no thanks. ![]()

Just found LoHan a natural sweetener in Chinese cooking. It's from a fruit. I got it from Vitacost. Doesn't take much to add sweetness and can be used in baking and cooking and drinks. Comes in a powdered form. We are using it instead of stevia as the inulin in the stevia can be challenging according to some research I did on types of stevia and trying to avoid maltodextrin. The goal is to reeducate the "sweet tooth" so that less sweetness is wanted. I'm not into sweet as much as DH so it's easier for me. But he hasn't made any comments about the taste when I use the Lo Han.
