That 26 yr. old sounds familiar, I think we had drinks together..............about 40 years ago.......

Let me get this straight ....

Saving seats at the square = Bad
Saving seats at the country clubs = Good

Do I understand this correctly?

Default cane

Yesterday a group of us decided to stop at cane for drinks...They would NOT let us sit inside as that was reserved for "eaters"..there was no place left outside except for the entrance veranda..We sat there..I, alone wanted to eat as I'm single and didn't want to cook..They informed me they would NOT serve me food there..I don't get it..Seems like they are taking advantage of the winter crowd and are long term blinded..I love their bar, but after meeting the rude hostess,I doubt I'll be back...Nor the 16 members of my group...

make sure you tell the management. Just not going back changes nothing except you lose a nice place to go to if fixed.

The manager is responsible for how his people serve the public or not and is most likely the real culprit in the scheme. However, he should be told why he is losing customers....SOMETIMES they do catch on or wake up.

Let me see if I got this right --- there were 16 people wanting to sit inside the restaurant area of Cane and have some drinks (maybe one drink each) this is the area where people usually have dinner and spend maybe $25 on food and then a drink or two - but your group wanted to have a drink in that area - and was told "NO" --- There were no seats for 16 people outside only at the entrance veranda, where they would not serve the one person who wanted to eat, and the reason he was hungry was because he is single and does like to cook ( solution to you problem - get married or learn to like cooking ) so anyway you as spokesman for the group of 16 will not go back to Cane. If I owned Cane, and my manager told me this story I would give him a raise. I wonder why the place was so crowded - maybe all the winter people who should have to wait until the frogs are all seated ---I really hope Cane makes it through July and Aug without declaring chapter 11 as i really like it there and i guess there will be 16 vacant seats this summer - sorry 15 - I will be there.

Oh dont forget to tell the manager he probably dont catch on why he is doing so well without you and the 15 others
Seems like most posters on this site go right to the manager -- has anyone called the manage to tell him it was a GREAT meal or GREAT service

Default Tierra Del Sol

My husband, daughter and I went to Tierra del Sol for dinner last evening. It was fabulous. The food was great, the service excellent and the entertainment superb. We had never been in the restaurant and I had read many not so great accounts of the place. What a surprise. This is a place we will certainly go back to.

Default Likes Havana

I have eaten there several times. But I am glad you are boycotting Havana -- that will make it easier for me to get a spot at the bar.

We've been to Bonifay countless times and have never had a bad meal. Their breakfast buffet is phenomenal - and for $5.99!! Can't be beat. But i Totally agree on Havana. I keep giving it another try and then I vow to never go back. Really too bad. I wish TV would step in.

Havana is without a doubt (IMP) the worst place to eat in the villages. I cant find anything good to say about the place

With all due respect, their function is to make money, so they can pay their staff and be there when you and your wife want to eat lunch and dinner and to offer you reasonably priced meals. Although you expected hospitality, some decisions have to be made by management about a bunch of guys coming in for cokes after golf. Maybe Manhattans after golf. The Manhattans would probably cause the seatholders to linger a LONG time and take up space from potential diners.

Some things sound unfriendly, when in fact they are only common sense. The fact that there was no place for you to sit, shows that many like to go there.

We love Cane Garden and it's servers always are very thoughtful, efficient, hardworking, courteous, and really perfect, so far.

I hate to beat a dead horse, so to speak, but yesterday was Men's Day at Havana. Stopped by the bar for refreshments after the round, and not a seat to be had. One bartender, and she was in SLOW gear. My friend made a comment to her that they needed to get her some help, and she took it as an insult. She wondered where all the people were coming from. Well, DUH! It's Men's Day! Doesn't management look at the schedule? Also, they picked that day to reseal the parking lot. As much as I want to support Villages operations, they don't even try to be competitive. We play there again tomorrow, but after the round off to Beef O Bradys!
